Topic: Game Gear/ TG-16 games? where are they?

What has happened to all the Game Gear games that were announced months ago? More specifically games like Defenders of Oasis and Shining Force: The Sword of Hayja? Also I clearly remember that prior to the launch of the eshop, Nintendo said that TG-16 games were coming to the Virtual console, nothing has been released or heard of since the launch. I know this subject's been covered plenty of times, but where are the games? more importantly, when are we all gonna get them?
I realise Nintendo has to work out the appropriate time to release these games, but they are taking their sweet time. By now we've had several Nintendo Directs, an E3 and a new Console release and no information regarding these two platforms. I'm guessing the first initial batch of GG games just didn't do well enough for Sega to consider releasing more, but we've had ESRB and OFLC ratings off the wall in the past, just where are these games for release? Anyone have any theories? any clues? Let's discuss:

So far, the VC isn't where I imagined it. It feels relatively lackluster so far. There are certainly some good titles, but things like Urban Champs and Balloon Fights are just filler that wouldn't move as much with more heavy hitters on there. That's the strategy I guess. Smart for Nintendo, lousy for us.

Yeah I want it to pickup now that 3DS is selling well because the GG VC were my favourites so far with that top notch emulation and options... It also helps when you're an old school Sega head like me

Most likely TG16 never came because of the collapse of Hudson Soft, who had publishing duties for digital rerelease of the console.
(I know Konami has publishing rights to their games, as seen by the recent release of Adventure Island II NES for Japanese 3DS VC. But possibly Konami isn't too interesting in taking over development of the emulator, selecting games to release, etc.?)

Still waiting Columns in 3DS VC to play it with brother.

But well, Game Gear didnt have so many much titles aside from lots of port from the Master System, some portable versions of MegaDrive/Genesis and some minor original games.

I was really excited to play Defenders of Oasis, since it was supposed to be like a Dragon Quest game with an arabian theme and I've never played a GG game before, but the whole delay has turned me off, just like other certain eshop releases... cough*Cave Story*cough.

I don't even think we'll see TG-16 games anymore, PSN stopped getting TG-16 games after Hudson got dissolved.

For some reason, Sega only wants to support the eShop in Japan.

Sega obviously has something against America I guess. We haven't gotten a single Game Gear 3DS VC game since March 2012, while Japan has been getting GG 3DS VC games on a regular basis. Sega promised Sonic Blast and Sonic Labyrinth for a summer release, but it's been nearly a year and we haven't gotten any of those games. It makes me mad to see that Sega is too lazy to support the 3DS e-Shop in America. Sonic Blast and Sonic Labyrinth are still in the e-Shop, with ratings, videos, info, and everything. They're just not available yet. Sega, this is really irritating.
EDIT: Oh, so Japan's getting a 3D Classic Sonic 1, but we get nothing? Thanks a lot Sega.

All the old Japanese dev's are separate entities for Japan and elsewhere. (Sega / SNK / Konami / Capcom all of them). The international parts of them are a complete waste of space all they do is try to milk money by expending as little effort as possible.

Konami owns Hudson's stuff now so that's it for ever seeing TG-16 stuff re-released. Good luck on getting anyone in the industry to ask them why.

Sega's finally pushing Game Gear stuff so that's at least half the question answered.

Those games are still in the 90's, along with the other forgotten VC games.
But really, Nintendo is so behind on VC, we're still waiting on games from the 90's.
I say, lets skip these 20 year old games, and lets see if Nintendo can bring games from the 10 years ago, before they all become $60 remakes on the Wii U, and pass it off as a new game.

For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday.
