Oddly enough this is the only Game and Watch Gallery I don't own. I've always enjoyed the series though, and put more than a fair share of hours into the 4th installment. While it's nice that it's on the 3DS shop it and I'm tempted to buy it, I think I'll probably hold out until I can find an actual cart some day. Good thing about these is that they are just about as cheap in physical form as they are on the store!

Loving this! The "modern" versions are so much more enjoyable, imho, but as a classic gaming fan I love the old skool versions, too Makes buying the individual Game & Watch titles kind of a no go for newcomers, tho.

I'm surprised so many people need restore points! I'm pretty close to 1000 on most of the games without using any, though Ball is the only one I really mastered. Got to 2000 on Ball on Hard first time playing it.

I absolutely LOVE this game! Just wondering - is there any benefit to having the DSiWare versions of these games? For people who own both of them, do you find you still play the DSiWare ones? I really love being able to have the Game and Watch games so I'm just wondering if it is actually worth it to double up.

You got to 2000? Wow! You must have a lot of time on your hands! Lol. I go to school and work 2 jobs, so yeah, doing that for me is kinda tough!

Cassic Ball on hard is pretty generous when it comes to points, not getting more than 1000 points of your first try is hard.

Just got 5 stars for Modern Vermin and Donkey Kong (on easy) That unlocked Modern Ball with Mario!

I need to work on Parachute now though, only 1 star in that one.

I give up once reaching 1000 points. No point in being masochistic.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

I only have the DSiWare edition of Vermin, but, at least in that case, the only real difference is in the games' appearance. The DSiWare edition simulates the original Game and Watch's LCD screen so that you see little "ghost" effects wherever an object in the game can be. For comparison, here are screen shots of both Game & Watch Gallery 2's Vermin and the DSiWare Vermin.

So the DSiWare one looks a bit nicer in my opinion, but other than that there are no real notable differences. I think the only thing that is missing from Gallery 2 that was in the DSiWare one is the clock function. If you don't have any of them, the Gallery collection is a much better value with 6 games with both classic and modern variations and two difficulties each for the same price as 2 of the DSiWare editions which include only the classic modes.

How many stars do you need to get the credits? I'm considering getting this.

According to this site you need 50 stars to see the credits and 120 see the cast credits (as in, the characters who "acted" in these games) [Is there even a way to get 120 stars?].

Each game has Classic and Modern, and each of those has two difficulty modes. As there is a maximum amount of 5 stars on each difficulty for each mode of each game, each game is worth 20 stars, and there are 6 games in this collection. 6*20=120!

I have not played a Game & Watch Gallery game before. Which one is best? Game & Watch Gallery or Game & Watch Gallery 2?

Number 3 is the best of all of them, but at the moment, go with 2. The first one hardly has any extra content and you will be bored easily. But the second has tons of extra unlockables and goodies.

Actually, number 4 is the best of all of them. The graphics are better, and the classic versions are more faithful to the originals. That's the one I really want! I wish they'd do a fifth one, that would take advantage of the 3DS's two screens and 3D capabilities.

I'd buy G&W 4 if it ever comes to the Eshop. Like jay2 said, it has the most games and the classic versions are much more like the actual G&Ws. I prefer classic mode to modern so this is a big deal for me. The DSiware G&W games are also amazing.
