This is my first Fire Emblem game too and I'm enjoying it. I'm playing on Easy just so I can get used to the gameplay, I had no idea what to expect. I think if you lose anyone, just restart. You'll likely find it harder to win and more likely to lose more allies if you continue and are inexperienced.
Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.
I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!
@kkslider5552000: Yes, the permanent death was frustrating for me when I started playing Fire Emblem. I don't consider myself particularly good at strategy games. I just stuck with it, and over time I learned how to keep weak units alive and avoid dangerous situations.
I dunno why before when I played the Wii game, but I think that made me quit the game. Forgot when I did play it though, but I think I can get myself back into the series. EDIT: That reminds me, is this game "linked" to any other games out there? Like, I heard that beating the game you can use the save data to continue on in a sequel or something...
I haven't started playing Sacred Stones yet but I'm really looking forward to it. I love Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn and have played through them both a few times.

While I have played and enjoyed several Fire Emblem games, this was the first I played and remains my favorite. It has one of the strongest storylines in the entire series and an amazing line-up of characters. Hardcore SRPG players don't like this one as much because it's so easy to make yourself overpowered, but I for one loved kicking the final boss's behind with my maxed out characters and their weapons. I also like that the fact that the two separate main characters make it a must that you replay the game at least once.
Moco Loco If you find yourself spiritually drifting (as I was for far too many years), remember that Jesus can and will walk across the water to reach you and bring you back to shore.
@kkslider But isn't that the definition of every penalty system ever? I mean, would you say that the "lives" system in Mario is unfair cause it allows more skilled players to play longer? Or that Sonic shouldn't fall in pits, cause it's unfair to people who foul up their jumps?
yeahhh.... not gettin' into this one. I was never really an RPG kinda guy. Tried it, it just seems cheesy to me. Not my cup of tea. But I'll keep it around just in case Gonna go play Yoshi now

Fire Emblem is actually pretty nifty, I think I'm gonna have to search around and find more Fire Emblem games, this series is awesome!
Grab the Wii one while it's still cheap. It goes for a lot over here but I see it's less than 20 Pounds on Amazon UK.
Thanks Mickeymac, as soon as I get some more money, I'm gonna see if I can grab that.
Got a lovely game over screen when some dude killed Eirika (whatever her name is...) on Chapter 8, so now I've had to start over, good thing too really, I was down to about 4 units. :/
