I haven't played through all of them yet and if they weren't free I probably would have only got SMB and maaaaybe Mario and Yoshi. So far I think that Balloon Fight, Ice Climber and Wrecking Crew are all great and, despite knowing so much about it already, Zelda has blown me away. I think it's mostly because it's in such a raw state and it's soooo huge that it looks anything but effortless.

Still, my favourite game is still SMB

These are my ratings:
Super Mario Bros: 8/10
Zelda: 7/10
Zelda II: 6/10
Ice Climber: 7/10
Balloon Fight: 8/10
Wrecking Crew: 7/10
Metroid: 7/10
NES Open Tourney Gold: 8/10
Donkey Kong Jr: 5/10
Yoshi: 9/10

My favorite of all has to be Yoshi. It's fun and very addicting

Balloon Fight and Ice Climber are my 2nd and 3rd favorite. I like the two Zelda games and I did enjoy DK Jr. It's an okay game. Metroid is.. eh, good I guess. Wrecking Crew is very interesting. The golf game is cool.

That's what I think. But really.. Why do people hate the Yoshi game? I'm actually enjoying it more than Tetris and Puyo Pop. Dunno why people compare it to Tetris. It's not trying to be that game, and thankfully it isn't. Maybe the game is best suited for on-the-go gaming? But seriously, it's better than a 4 in my eyes.

Judging by the wild zeal, those of us enjoying Yoshi may have just discovered we enjoy the puzzle genre.

Keep the Yoshi love coming

I think the reviewer will like the game more now that it's a (non monochromatic) portable game perfect for short sessions.
And i hope the update includes online multiplayer (what? my last dream of getting yoshi as one of the free games became true!).

Well, I don't like every puzzle game.. But I have to say- Wario Woods and Yoshi are my favorites. I had the SNES version of Wario Woods and love that game. The music, how unique it was looking back..

Reading through the thread- lots of people like the original Zelda. Well, I kinda don't lol

It's the first time I'm playing it and it's cool to see how the whole series started but man.. It's so old.. I think SMB aged well and the first time I played the NES version was on GBA in NES Classics- the All Stars version before that. I feel that the controls of Zelda 1 is kinda clunky for my liking. That's my personal feeling about it don't attack me!

Zelda II i have on Wii and have not beaten it because I kinda lost interest. The real reason I ever got it was to listen to the Temple track- loved it in Melee and wanted to listen to it's original.

Metroid I had as an NES classic. Never beat it. Played around with the Justin Bailey password- that was funny..

Maybe I'll actually beat it this time. And SMB (I seriously have not beaten it). But Yoshi is too addicting and I keep jumping back into it.

Now Yoshi, but I guess TLoZ and Zelda II are gonna be on the first and second place respectively xD Man, I thought Yoshi's game was going to be very bad, but surprise surprise I couldn't stop playing it Ballon Fight is a very cool one too :3

Check out my super awesome Super Mario Maker levels.

I love the love for Yoshi :3

@abgar
I hope it's online multiplayer too. It's definitely possible. But I don't think it'll happen

Who knows? They could always make a 3DS sequel with online play if the game gets enough attention 20 years after it's original release (and they could inclue other mario related puzzles to the package while they're at it >:3).

Super Mario Bros. is kind of awkward to control with the A & B buttons, but it's still my favorite. I was pleasantly surprised by Yoshi, though, and have put the most time into that one.

Donkey Kong Jr. was the one I was most looking forward to... and that turned out to be quite a disappointment. Nowhere near as good as DK for the Gameboy.

I have yet to try Balloon Fight, Wrecking Crew, or Ice Climbers.

I'm looking forward to the multiplayer option for Yoshi when it comes out. I wonder if the two player mode will include download play.........

I think it's Zelda 2 since I've never played it before. I'm gonna try to beat it, but it seems to be a quite hard game.

Hey everyone, I was wondering what your favorite ambassador game is so far. Mine is Zelda II, because despite what people say, it's a really great game.

I agree with you totally! I'm probably older than a lot of u on here but I remember when it came out. I was very young and had just finished wasting a whole Summer beating the original Zelda, and I saved my allowance for the longest time to plonk down the $40-50 for Zelda 2, brand new, at Toys R Us I spent another entire Summer playing Zelda 2 and let me tell you, I was obsessed with Zelda back then I even drew my own comic strips of it and my own maps of the area. My cousin Andrea and I played Zelda 2 to death. I eventually beat it at the end of that Summer (a very hard feat for a young kid!) I was so amazed and proud of myself. It's such a wonderful game! Give it a chance The ending battles are AMAZING and the music is pretty awesome too There are some fun glitches in the game, too, such as jumping onto the roofs of some of the towns houses and jumping down chimneys that lead to nowhere, walking on the water with the water boots and getting stuck in areas, seeing graphic glitches, but it's all in the fun spirit of old NES and I love it I give this game a 10/10 for originality, difficulty level and great characters and graphics.

Zelda II for me. Cleared the entire western continent yesterday, and on my way to the water palace at the moment.

Getting the hammer is a real pain if you don't take the "easy" way there and don't have the attack at level 4 or higher.

Yoshi > All the rest. Real surprise this game ,great fun and addictive. The rest are just too archaic for me to bother with TBH. I got better stuff to play. Looking forward to the GBA games though!!!

What's this bit for again?

AUnkownFuture

The games i played so far are...
Wrecking Crew
Metroid
Balloon Fight
Super Mario Bros
Ice Climber

I didnt have a clue to get past the first level in Wrecking Crew so i might redownload it again. Balloon Fight in my opinion is a fun game and its very good too. Ice Climber is good but i was having problem with the jump button. Instead of pressing B and press left/right seperately, you have to press B and left/right at the same time so that kinda put me off slighty but its still good. Metroid is a great game but challanging and i have no problems with the game. And finallly Super Mario Bros we all know the game was awesome back then but its awesome today and im having a great time playing it. Well thats all i have to say about the games i played from the ambassador programme. Im dying to find out what the other 5 GBA games are. Im hoping F-Zero Maximum Velocity will be on the list so i can play it for ages.

I officially own a MAME arcade machine.

Impressive, sir! I'm just level grinding till I pass out right now. I "beat" the first dungeon technically, but I haven't put the crystal in the pedestal. I just keep running through it, beating all the Stalfos and Darknuts over and over again till I level up. I have the darndest time trying to get through Death Mountain, so I'm trying to bulk up while its still relatively easy to do so. The fact that your EXP resets when you get a game over is ridiculous, so I'm thinking about holding out until we get the restore point update.
