I find it difficult to compare retro games to modern ones from the same series, so I'll rank them separately. I'm only including the main series platformers:
Classic:
1st: Adventure
2nd: Dream Land 3
3rd: Super Star
4th: Dream Land
5th: Dream Land 2
Classic-ish;
1st: Super Star Ultra
2nd: Amazing Mirror
3rd: Nightmare in Dreamland
4th: Crystal Shards
5th: Squeak Squad
Modern:
1st: Planet Robobot
2nd: Return to Dreamland
3rd: Triple Deluxe
4th: Star Allies

Planet Robobot really is stellar, even if it’s not as Kirby as the rest of the series. I wish relaxed, low difficulty/high fun platformers were more popular, so it could get the recognition of top tier status in that category like it deserves.

Those three Kirby games are prolly my top 3. It's been awhile since I've played Robobot, but I remember having more fun with it than other ds/3ds Kirby games.

Give me a heads-up if you're going to send a request please.
1. Planet Robobot- Fun game with a unique mechanic that fits the core gameplay in the Robobot Armor, which really enhances the combat and puzzle solving.
2. Return to Dreamland- The first game in the modern series which really polished console Kirby. Super Abilities were also really fun to use.
3. 64- Brought Kirby into 2.5D and introduced combo abilities which were some of the most creative we've seen in the series.
4. Squeak Squad- This game is really underrated and introduced a lot of mechanics I wish stuck around a bit more, such as the belly system and ability scrolls.
5. Amazing Mirror- Pretty much Great Cave Offensive as a full game. It's unsual to see Kirby as a Metroidvania but it works pretty well.
