Topic: Ambassador games for everyone?

I'm wondering if Nintendo is planning to release the ambassador GBA games as official titles on their eShop, instead of being an exclusive download for ambassadors

Has anyone heard anything yet? Do you think that situation is likely to ever take place?

Nope, they've stated that the have no future plans for making GBA games public.

Considering how long ago the Nes games were given to ambassadors with no signs of them being on sale for all I'd say doubtfull. Maybe but unlikely. Otherwise what's the point of being an ambassador?

Actually, the NES games will go on sale to the non-Ambassador public soon, and when they do, Ambassadors will be able to update their copies so they'll have Restore Point functions, multiplayer functionality and full instruction manuals. I don't know for sure if they'll be coming tomorrow/Friday with the GBA titles, but I wouldn't put it past Nintendo to do that, considering Europe's press release still hasn't come out yet (and they're usually good about putting that up early).

Well the NES set of 10 are going to go public, the original news was when the GBA games go live, so if that's true you can have at those tomorrow.

I think the GBA games probably will go live, but it will be a long while, bare minimum of a year before they go public. I only think this because of the unique layout of what they've chosen to grant us early buyers. It would leave some critical holes in a GBA VC lineup to leave them hanging in limbo like that. Odds are they'll roll out a GBA VC in 2012, and then at some point after (say next Christmas) or at the worst, if they make the GBA VC a Christmas thing they'd launch with them too. It's hard to think they'd patch up 10 games as an apology, create the emulator and backbone structure for the VC to support this, and then only let a select set of people have access as it is wasteful.
