I know, Punch-Out should've been a "3D Classics" game instead of Urban Champion. (Maybe we'll still see a 3D Classics version of Super Punch Out but talk about that in http://tinyurl.com/7jxqpng, this thread is about non-Ambassador NES games on the 3DS VC).
EDIT: I'm betting Japan will also get the Japanese Super Mario Bros. 2 (The Lost Levels) very soon as well.
It makes me wonder if we'll eventually see MD/Genesis, Arcade, Neo Geo, and even SNES games in the future. (It'll be a long time before any of that (along with GBA games) would happen though since it's obvious that they probably want to get a huge amount of Game Boy and GBC games out first.)

Wow I'm jelly. I have it on Wii VC but on 3ds you can use the suspend feature and never have to start over. I never could beat Mr. Dream. next time you notice we've edited something in a comment of yours, contact us — editing it back in is not kosher. if you don't like what we do with regards to profanity or offensive slang, be more careful next time and we won't have to take those steps — TBD

I still haven't beaten Mr. dream, and I have the NES cart! I'd rather have another game, but the suspend feature really will help me from raging so I'd be willing to pay for it again. Bring it over soon, Nintendo.
I see really one big problem with this game... really, Nintendo, you're gonna ask me to use the 3DS' Start button as an action button (the super-punch)? (Select was the pause button, right? Would be nice if the VC software would let you swap it so Y was Start instead of Select.)
what if we get a GBA game that wasnt an ambassador game

I suppose this is going to be the same as the Wii version: In the west, Mr. Dream version with some minor text changes. I notice the Japanese 3DS VC page specifies this is the "prize" version (that lacks Tyson or Dream), but then again, it seems the Japanese Wii version was also that (since obviously they're not going to get the Tyson version on VC, and the game wasn't popular enough in Japan to warrant a release of the Mr. Dream cart).
Look at Sony and PSN; if you buy a PS1 game on PS3, you can play it on both your PSP and PS3.
Not everyone has a PS3 and a PSP there slick.
So? the option is still there. If you ever do decide to get a PSP after getting a PS1 game on PS3 or vica versa, you can always transfer it to the other and play it on the go/on the big screen in it's pixelated bricky goodness

I know in CATRAP, which used the GB's Select button to switch between characters in certain levels, Select was also mapped to Y, so it's possible Start may be mapped to X in this one.

In the other NES VC games, X is used to open the VC menu. I somehow am doubting Nintendo will show enough concern to change that.
After Kirby, i'm completely over the novelty of 3D remakes. If they're going to charge more for having 3D without going full screen, then they may as well just dispense with the 3D make-overs and just release them as VC titles. That way we get more of them rather than the breadcrumb feed we got in 2011.
