I know nintendo would want to keep the 3DS VC games in the original screen ratio. But I was thinking that some games would definitly be improved if they could use the whole of the top screen.
I don't mean stretching the graphics to fill the space, but to keep everything as they are, but just fill the space with more of a level that you wouldn't normaly see in the original ratio.
That way you could see more of whats coming, and judge your moves a bit further in advance. The Sonic and Mario games on the 3DS VC would devinitly benefit from this, but what do you guys think?
i know nintendo would never do it, and games do look weird stretched out, but that`s not the point of the question that i was asking.
all i wanted was opinions that if nintendo ever did allow the VC games to use the extra screen space to display more of a level, would you think the VC games would benefit from having that option or not. would games slso be better having more on view.
personaly i think that the mario land games and sonic games on the gamegear would be better with more of each level on display, but games like tetris and dr mario probably wouldn`t really need it.
Why do that when they wouldn't make any more money off of it?

I doubt anyone will decide to not buy a Gameboy/GBC game solely due to its lack of widescreen support. The fact that Nintendo is putting the games on the eShop is enough for people to buy them. Very few people actually care that it's not in widescreen (I'd assume less than a 10th of a percent, and that's being generous). Developers designed their games around the limitations of the system; yeah, Metroid 2 would undoubtedly benefit from widescreen, but it would change the nature of the game. I freaked out the first time I found a Metroid in the game, which wasn't in sight until the thing immediately appeared on screen from nowhere. I would have seen it if the game was in true widescreen, losing the shock. Part of that shock factor would be lost if the game was put in widescreen, since the game would have to be redesigned to retain the shock factor.
EDIT: I also got to thinking that a certain "old school" factor would be lost if the games were in widescreen. Nostalgia is part of what fuels the fun in a lot of these releases.

Sorry if my english isn't good... At least I try :-)

You obviously didn't actually read what I said. Of course people are already buying the VC games - thus the first question was asked. Nintendo dont have to release GBC/SGB palettes for their GB games and they dont have to add different resolution options - but it would be great if they did, and would prove that they do care about all of their fans and dont do everything for the money. Mighty Switch Force just got an update with some free levels - was it necessary? No, but it shows good fan support. Finally I'd like to say that the widescreen would very obviously, like every other VC feature, be optional. So while you wouldn't enjoy it, others may - and that's what counts.
