Oh no! Not the timeline!

There will now be a wave of angry Zelda fanboys at Nintendo's footsteps demanding a new timeline that fits their own

And once again. There really is no Zelda timeline. The whole timeline thing is just people looking for something that's not there.

The fact that Twilight Princess and Majora's Mask exist can technically make anything possible in the alternate realities portrayed besides that.
These timelines are technically still happening at the same time. They can make up whatever they want and make it work.
I can see how the timeline makes sense. It was just a major afterthought.

Well yeah The Legend of Zelda and Zelda II: The Adventure of Link are tied together just like OoT and Majora's Mask are tied together but Besides those games there really isn't a timeline. Thats like saying there is a timeline for the Final Fantasy games.

What if this game makes a separate branch in the timeline where the Triforce isn't complete?

Now keep going... Link to the Past is connected to these games too as it was suppose to be a prequel to both games on where Ganon came from. Then OOT comes in and goes further back. Showing the origins of the Triforce and the first time Ganondorf transforms into Ganon. Which is connected to both Majora's Mask and Wind Waker. Can you see where I am going with this?

Have you played Wind Walker? They specifically mention what happened at the end of OOT in the intro. How can that be possible if that's not what happened in Majora's Mask. How can they BOTH be connected? Twilight Princess also mentions the end of OOT... but it's not the same. People who say there isn't a timeline obviously aren't paying attention to the story.

Twilight Princess and Wind Waker I think are the two biggest evidences that a timeline exist.

There is a timeline, but Nintendo only retroactively put one together. It's pretty clear that fans started speculating about there being one well before the Zelda team ever gave some thought about it.

Even as a die-hard Zelda fan, I've never really cared about the timeline. It's clear that the "overarching Zelda saga" has only rarely been anything more than a tertiary concern (at best) for Nintendo, so I don't see why I should treat for more than it is: a mildly interesting curiosity that holds little true significance for the series.

I don't think Nintendo JUST retroactively put it together. I think it was starting with Wind Waker (The timeline split I mean). I think what they did put together though was the ones that Capcom helped develop. (The Oracle and Four Swords games). Because those games had no apparent relation with any of the games besides the linked ending on Oracles where you sail on a raft at the end of the game. Linking to Link's Awakening, where you start out on that same raft. I think those two games were meant to be on their own. Then Nintendo came in with Four Swords Adventures to try to connect them in by using Ganon. Every other game references a previous or future game somehow.

At this point, I don't give a darn about continuity. Unless directly stated in-game, I don't care in the slightest the order it happened in. Honestly, I don't even understand what's so important about this thing in the slightest.

No no! I've got a better one! Stop making sequels and just give us Super Mario Sunshine 2, Nintendo!

Donkey Kong Country Returns deserves another sequel, they should add in underwater swimming and snow levels.
WTF Retro, another Donkey Kong game? The studios is going downhill!

Well, they never said that it's a direct sequel that picks up right after the events of LttP. Most likely, this game is further down the timeline, at a point where the events of the Oracle games already passed, with an entire new Link and Zelda.

zoroarkrules25

I have the book with the timeline, and this is somewhat logical, maybe it takes place in a new alternate reality.

This. Or maybe the game ends with the triforce being complete?
