And why would they? It's a small screen, it's not going to make that big of a difference.
I do expect them to make a sharper screen, but 480p is sufficient.

It's not going to make that big of a difference? Have you ever compared the display of a 3DS to a smartphone? Come on
I should have been more clear. HD on a small screen does not have as much impact when compared to resolutions such as 480p. Of course, the 3DS screens are lackluster. But don't expect HD in the next generation.

I'd like too be able too transfer all of my Games from my 3DS too what ever next gen handheld/console Nintendo has planned mainly because at this point, I've probably spent thousands on my 3DS XL due too the Eshop.

It does make a difference and at a high enough resolution you no longer need anti aliasing.

Freedom of the press is for those who happen to own one.
Dual sticks is really all I could ask for. If it had a screen such as the Vita's, that'd be great. BC with the 3DS seems assured, and a clamshell design is something I hope they keep just for convenience and screen safety. But if they were to try something like the Vita, I wouldn't mind.
It'll have 3 screens and Smellevision. (...Smellivision?...However you spell it, lol) And will have a Blu-Ray Drive and has a built in cell phone feature.
Oh, right, and 4K support. lol
They're doing fine with the 3DS as it stands, so as long as they make it worth my money (that means no more cameras, AR cards or other gimmicks) then I'll be happy to buy one on launch day. Also, I think they should wait until at least 2016 to release a new handheld.

-second analog nub
-20-50% larger than the original 3ds please (3DS XL is too big for my taste)
-better shoulder buttons (bigger)
-better visuals of course (like xbox360/ps3 would be enough)
-better battery life (1 or 2hours more would be nice)
-no more stupid design flaws like the upper screen touching the boundaries of the lower screen (why, nintendo? why?)
-better cameras (doesnt need to be superb but 3ds cameras are a joke!)
-internet browser that is capable of playing videos
-full backwards compatibility with DS and 3DS
-being able to tranfser eshop titles from the 3ds
-animal crossing as a launch title
Another one of these, huh? Oh well, my thoughts haven't changed,
Dual analog.
qHD (540p) is enough.
Definitely keep the dual screen.
3G support.
Compatible with all DS and 3DS software, both physical and digital.
Yep on all fronts. I want DS and 3DS compatibility at all times. At the current rate of finishing and buying 3DS games I might just as well be busy for two or three years.
As far as the tech specs go, we just need a slightly more powerful Wii, as the shaders and modern architecture of the components will guarantee near PS3/X360 graphics.
3G would be a nice addition if you could for example play strategy or puzzle games for free, due to the low amount of data being sent. Leaderboards on the go would be enough for me.
I'd like them to keep the dual-screen setup, i like it.
Higher res(duuh), but no need to go overboard with this if the screen's are about 4inches(for the normal sized "4ds"). 540p is more than enough imo.
If it has 3D i'd like the 3D sweetspot to be much wider, so u don't have to hold it in a specific position all the time. 3D should be adjustable like it is now.
Touch screen to be very responsive to both fingers and stylus.
Dual sticks, or analogs.
Streaming possibility built-in, also possibility to easily play via your tv.
Better battery is a must, this is the weakest point on the 3ds imo. Should be 5-8 hours.
A camera that's actually worth using. At the very least 3mp.
Full backwards compatibility, DS and 3DS.
Easy e-shop game transfer from the 3ds.
A good web-browser, that has full functionality where u can watch youtube for example. (not in a separate app like now)

Vita is 544p, we can expect a new console sometime between 2017 and 2020. The jump to 720p isn't as strange as you may imagine. Also, HDS is a nice name
