Topic: Your thoughts on the NES and GBA games coming to eshop?

ALSO for GBA and free to all, even non"Ambassadors" is Zelda Four Swords.

My thoughts.

• So much for Mario 1 getting remastered into a 3D classic... It's also now not likely that Mario 3 is getting reworked into a 3D classic.
• We better be getting a Megaman AND a Castlevania in the free releases.
• MGS for the NES would be a great one too. Toss in Blaster Master and Gauntlet too.
• I want to see some Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest games included in the free releases but I doubt they'll do that because they know how much money they can make off those...
• The announced GBA game titles seem much stronger collectively than the NES offerings

Doubt we will see any other company's Games on that list. All I see is Nintendo games.

This is a good point. Bionic Commando is another NES game I'll throw out there. It's another non-Nintendo production game.

I'm really happy with The Legend of Zelda, Yoshi's Island, Metroid Fusion, and Mario vs. Donkey Kong. Everything else is good, too, and there are still ten more games.

To be honest, I can't imagine this as a good use of the 3D effect:

But yeah, I was hoping for The Legend of Zelda as a 3D classic. I think it would have worked really well.

We could say the same thing about the two 3D classics on the market.

Here's another thought. Early adopters also got Excitebike 3D and Pokedex for free as well. So technically it's 12 free games/apps.

Simple answer Yes

They're still pretty good, though. I just don't think an 8-bit platformer would be a good choice for 3D classics.

Mario 1 is one of the greatest games of all-time. It's pretty good.

I never said it wasn't. I don't want a 3D Classics version just so the clouds and bushes can be further in the background.

Apparently the public, paid versions of the NES games will "updated" from the free Ambassador versions, though the Ambassadors still get the update.

Does this mean Nintendo eventually plans on making the NES games 3D Classics or giving them widescreen support? Could be.

I don't like the idea of Mario games going wide screen.The pacing of the games will change...

I can't wait to play SMB1 on my 3DS. The NES games will be rendered at their original resolution since both the 3DS screen and NES have the same height in pixels, so they'll look awesome.

Also I can't wait to finally play Metroid Fusion. <3

If Kid Icarus isn't one of the 10 free NES titles then let's hope for that belongs in the 3D Classics.

"These will be 2D games. They are not 3D Classics. When the NES games become available to the general public later this year, they will include additional features such as multiplayer simultaneous play. Ambassadors will then be able to download those updated version at no cost," says a Nintendo spokesperson

Why is it possible to get Yoshi's Island on 3DS VC
but the game is still somehow missing from the Wii VC?
