3d is always off, however that is because I can't see it. Brightness is 2.

I use the 3d slider for all "new to me" games then rarely use it.
HOWEVER, these are the games I use it for 99% of the time:
1) Resident Evil: Revelations (BTW, the BEST 3DS game out there)
2) Kid Icarus (BTW, the 2nd BEST 3DS game out there)
3) Mario 3DLand
4) Liberation Maiden
5) Luigi's Mansion
6) Rising Boards
I'd say I use it 85-95% of the time.
I used to use it constantly (excepting games where the 3D felt uncomforable, which was pretty much only Skylanders: Giants).
I rarely bother with 3D anymore. It's not that I don't like it but I often play at night when my eyes are getting tired and it also drains the battery a lot faster. You also have to stay in one "sweet spot" position when I would rather get as comfortable as possible.
When I do play with 3D I have it turned on max otherwise I find the effect too subtle. The last game I played with the 3D on all the time was A Link Between Worlds. The 3D in that was excellent.
In thinking about this topic....... I LOVE the 3D effect in WWE: All stars but there is a HORRIBLE game glitch, when you complete the belt mode (Orton/Undertaker/DX) it locks up on the final cut scene forcing a power down and start the final match again. This game scares me to use 3D because of that.
3D slider all the way up, max brightness, as much as possible for me! I always have the 3D on unless I'm playing a game that doesn't support it or doesn't handle it well, or if I've been using it for a really long time I turn it off, but then I sort of subconsciously slide the 3D slider back up without even realizing it. That's how much I use the 3D. Probably not healthy but WHO CARES?!?! The 3D is awesome!
I'm surprised how many people have the 3d on. I put it on sometimes as I do enjoy it, but after a while it strains my eyes (no headaches).

no 3D, because of the short duration of the battery....

I kind of enjoy seeing how the 3D looks for every game. Usually I play with 3D on about a little less than halfway mark. Depending on the game, I may tone it down to the minimal amount of 3D, but it's never higher than what I previously said. I know some people can back me up on this, so having said that Ocarina of Time has the most intensifying 3D ever on max. I honestly can't handle it for more than 4 seconds. Your eyes will literally bleed out of its socket!
Also, it seems like with 3D turned on, games look better. Could be just me though.
I always have it on at full power, unless the game has REALLY awful 3d or something. It just feels like I'm wasting a vital and cool feature of the system if I don't use it.
