I believe Nintendo is going to release the date shown below. It might be a rumor and Nintendo might say it's not true just a rumor, but Nintendo always says something is a rumor such as the DSi when rumors were being spread about a new DS Nintendo said no such thing, well I see my DSi in my hand. So Nintendo says not TRUE so hopefully they can keep it a secret, but it's quite hard keeping a big secret like a 3DS!

Zezhyrule: If I were Nintendo I wouldn't waste the company's money to gamble on bundle sales.
This would be good and (now that you think of it) likely that the 3DS is coming in November. And it seems that the only one who is saying March was Regie..... and the the day after Regie says he might have been wrong. Also when they announce a new DS they usually do it a little less than half a month or half a month by now. When Nintendo gives more detail on the 3DS it's usually 2 months before the realease. But maybe because the 3DS's secret got out to early.

The September 22 date that GameStop proposed could only be the date upon one may reserve a 3DS. I highly doubt that the Nintendo 3DS will be at all released this year as the Nintendo DSi has a nice line-up of titles with Golden Sun: Dark Dawn, The Four Heroes or Light, Shantae: Risky's Revenge and Zenonia. Matt Bozon said he can't believe that the 3DS is coming so rapidly as the DSi is still quite young and new.

Yet, it would be very spectacular if Nintendo did release the 3DS at Thanksgiving or Christmas, the latter would indeed be the best as they'd get more money. I hope Reggie was all out in left field on the March 2011 date. The sooner the better in my opinion as I'm longing to acquire Paper Mario 3DS and PilotWings and not to mention Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

@TokyoRed: The DSi is also in the DS family. It's not an entirely new handheld.

My birthday is passed but It will soon be the Holidays and folks b-day so the 3DS would be a great present for right now . My friends birthday is november 28 and I am really hoping the 3DS will be released soon because I would love to buy the 3DS for her b-day, her mom never gets her anything

dont worry about the games or the 3DS's. they could easely generate enought of them. and still releasing the 3DS earlyer with 3-5 games on it.

It sucks if you ask me to release it with 80 titles. the major company's will make sure that they skip the launch date. like metal gear solid, or els they see there profits going downwards big time.

Probably kingdom heartz and metal gear solid of not resident evil, will state that they cant launch it at the start. because they need more time. This is to skip the mass. So they can release there title when everybody wants a new game to play. so there sells go upwards big time.

its like releasing pokemon black and white with tons of other interesting games, there wont be any selling record. but to release it later on when there is nothing interesting for the DS to get, it will sell like cakes

Well spoken wise sage! It doesn't make sense for the Nintendo 3DS to be released this year in the United States at all. Granted, we want it so badly, Nintendo knows that if they were to release the 3DS this year in the USA they'd skew the sales of the upcoming game releases for the current DS iterations.

Too right - no-one's gonna stick their hand up to go up against the first party stuff at launch. Would be a shame to release with only a few games, though. I like the idea of there not only being something for everyone, there's too much for everyone!
