I played the demo a bit and it does seem a bit different than the Wii U version. There are the dogs that follow and seemingly more 'hidden' things. Is that true?

I'm really trying to decide if I should pick this up or not. I haven't yet played the Wii U version much...its on the list.

Gosh, I just don't know whether to get this or not. It seems like the biggest difference is Yoshi is always dragging behind him the Poochy's which point out hidden secrets and such and they never have to be replenished whereas on the Wii U you have to get the yarn balls. I have it on the Wii U I just haven't got around to playing it and I really wonder if I would want to replay it on the 3DS....arg.

Do it.

Poochy is the best Nintendo character and anyone who says otherwise is plain wrong.

Well I played this demo about 10 times and decided I loved the general art style as well as the gameplay and level design.....so just bought the Wii U version instead. Lol.

But the Poochy-ness!

That's fine too, it's a great game on both consoles.

Yeah I don’t know either.

I like the 3D element. That's for sure.

@Mega_Yarn_Poochy

I like the slightly better graphics, the 3D overworld and the cheaper price (for a used copy)

I quite coincidentally happened to visit El Paso today, so I went to a gamestop and bought the bundle! (and also amiibo cards for animal crossing).

I had to ask because it wasn't exposed yet, the lady there said she though it would release next week! But thankfully they had them in the back room.

It's adorable.

Yeah I don’t know either.

It's amazing, to put it bluntly.

Oh my plush, the amiibo companion yoshies have been greatly upgraded. Why did they never mention this.

For starters, they now stand a bit to the background, so you can go right past them. The second, most noticeable thing is that they no longer do exact duplicates of your movements, they now have their own AI.

They follow you perfectly, don't get in the way, won't try to eat you, won't get damaged, die or get stuck, and you can make them shoot yarn at the same direction or mirror your yoshi... And they use a duplicate of your current yarn ball too, no stealing yarn balls. It's amazing.

Only two things got lost in the translation:

You can't use them as platforms to reach higher places, and you can't use them as heart containers for an easy 20 heart level finish. (since they don't have heart counters of their own).

Amazing game! But how do I unlock more Poochy Dash levels?

vethipster

Nagi_Nagisa

@vethipster You unlock more Poochy Levels if you get further in the regular Stages.

German Nintendo Fan. Please excuse my flawed english ;)

vethipster

@Nagi_Nagisa okay, so there's like a Poochy level for each world? Do you unlock them by specific levels, or by doing specific things?

vethipster

Morpheel

The only exception is of course the first poochy level, which is already unlocked by default. So the first fort has no level associated to it.

Yeah I don’t know either.

Corrin Yoshi has been datamined, implying the three unreleased Smash amiibo for Cloud, Corrin, and Bayonetta should be finally releasing soon. Maybe there's Cloud Yoshi and Bayonetta Yoshi?

@JaxonH "Inaccessible Corrin costume in Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World"

What if the reason it's "inaccessible" is b/c they canceled the physical Corrin amiibo after they put it in the game but didn't feel like deleting it just in case they changed their minds again later?

Thanks for the heads up, E3 or Bust. If Switch gets Bayonetta 3 it would be hard to resist. SSB Deluxe I can resist.

This game is great! Probably the best Yoshi game after the SNES original.
This port looks great for the 3DS and it runs well, the autorun poochy levels are very fun and they're the kind of levels you gotta replay a lot to get everything.

The levels are very creative and diverse.
There can be quite a bit of challenge, unlike the previous Good-Feel game, Kirby Epic Yarn.
Also the soundtrack is so good. Lots of memorable tracks. My favorite track is the one from Frozen Solid and Chilled (World 5-2).

This blue eye perceives all things conjoined. The past, the future, and the present. Everything flows and all is connected. This eye is not merely seen reality. It is touching the truth. Open the eye of truth... There is nothing to fear.
