Is it just me, or do the graphics in this game make you think of....cake? xD
I don't know why, I keep thinking of the decorative icing you see on cake...its making me crave it. lol
EDIT: ...Ugh, my grammar sucks tonight, lol

It does look cake like.... so does Yoshi's Island artstyle in general. I expect some 2.5 elements. The charatcer models are in the 3rd demension. Hopefully, the game can be at moments.

Looking at the Wikipedia page, they also made the Pinobee and Blinx games! Didn't know that!

I wonder if the different babies are back! I especially liked baby DK, because he let you climb vines!

Weird how the new Yoshi's New Island Topic got closed for this one which hasn't been active for over a month

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

I don't want to talk about Yoshi's New Island on this thread! This thread smells. Offense mode activated.

Anyway, I'd like to get this. I never played a Yoshi's Island game before and I'd like to start here... unless the SNES game comes for the 3DS VC. Apparently, not that many fans are excited. I kind of agree. If it wasn't for Baby Mario and Yoshi, I could have mistaken this for a third-party game.

I want this game to be good, but I'm not dumb enough to believe this will be even half as good as the original. It's really a shame that one of my favorite games of all time can't ever seem to get a worthwhile sequel.

Bioshock is 10 years old. Let's play through its horrific environment and see why its so beloved!

The concept of the art style is solid but the execution is sloppy. The lack of AA means that the borders of everything look jagged and rough, which doesn't help when the art itself looks like someone plopped the sprites into MSPaint and sloppily used the eraser to cut them out.
I want to see new IPs Nintendo. You did a great job on The Wonderful 101, and I'm jealous of Wii U owners who get to play it, so bring that same creativity to the 3DS and give us something completely new!

@nisshoku You do realize that Yoshi's Island was designed so that it would look as though it was drawn by a little kid, right? You'll never see anyone claim that the art is anything more than cute or charming, 'tis far from an intricate design. :3

Right, but you clearly didn't read what I wrote. I said that the execution is sloppy, because as you can see by looking at the images using your eyes, the edges on pretty much everything look very, very poorly done. As I said, like they were cut out using MSPaint. Haven't got a problem with the art style.

I really like the background art work. No doubt that it will look amazing on the 3DS screen in 3D.

The graphics look a lot better on the 3DS, when they're not being blown up to fit PC monitors. I'd encourage people to check out the trailer on the eShop if it's still available.

Yeah, videos and images (sometimes) usually don't say much on how it'll actually look on your system. I've watched plenty of 3G videos, they were blurry and cruddy...I have it on my 3DS now and its looks great. (not to mention a very smooth framerate, though you have to have the 3D setting off in the game's menu)
