If you're a fan of the FF games (and the music) as a series, go for the 3DS one. If you're only a fan of a few games/music, go for the iOS and buy the songs you want.

Now if they just concentrated more on the Final Fantasy and less on Theatrhythm then it could have been a little ripper ;)

I honestly found the game to be only a decent rhythm game as it felt really easy at times, but I'm not a big Final Fantasy guy.

This is a signature.
Link goes here now.
Screw you.

BLAST! This game isn't compatible with my iPod Touch model.

I think I would have enjoyed this.

Nor is it compatible with my iPad.

Could anyone care to explain me WHY is it necessary to have a gyroscope to play this?

Of course I knew it was an ios port the whole time (like everybody else), I still haven't gotten the game (for a few reasons) and even now that it's on ios, i'll still get it on 3ds because my fingers would be to big to do anything on that small screen on my ipod.

ah well, I was hoping for Theatrhythm Elite Beat Agents, maybe one day.

Unless it specifically has gyroscopic feedback, then no. (I think that's the one I have)

It's compatible with: iPhone 4, 4S, 5, iPod Touch 5, iPad 2, 3, 4 and iPad mini. Compatible with iOS 4.3 and later.

I actually know this one.

It's not possible for a developer to lock out a platform. So for instance, a developer can't say "this game won't work on an iPad 1, so we'll block iPad 1s from downloading it."

What they can do, though, is demand features that the early hardware models don't offer. So by demanding gyro (even thought the game doesn't use it), Square Enix is able to make sure that only the people with hardware powerful enough to run the game can download it.

I knew it would be something like that... It's still a little bit too weird, can't apple just add the option to limit downloads by model instead? Well, I guess it's a little harder when you consider that this is an ipad+iphone+itouch app.

Yeah, I have no idea either. I think in principle Apple wants developers to be making apps that work on anything, so it tries to discourage them from being too choosy about what platforms the games will play on.

Haha, kids these days and their workarounds.

Though seriously, if this runs perfectly on the 3DS, I don't see how is it too much for the ipad 1. Oh well.
