I have enough money for a full priced game. On my 3DS wishlist right now, I have Mario & Luigi:Paper Jam, Xenoblade Chronicles 3D, Shovel Knight, and Pokemon Y.
I'm in an RPG kind of mood and after the Pokemon Direct I got poke-fever. I was set on buying Y but saw Xenoblade still on my Wishlist and got all caught up on wanting to play that. And now I can't decide between the two.
I mention my other titles on the list because I love action-adventure and platformers too. And Mario/Luigi is the type of RPG I usually play (although I do play MonHun.) A little more background is that I have never played Xenoblade and haven't played Pokemon since LeafGreen on GBA.
I'm torn and could really use some suggestions. Thanks for any replies.
Hmm... xenoblade is much, much harder than pokemon. so if youre new to both games, starting to play pokemon Y will a a lot friendlier. xenoblade chronicles 3D is a great game on its own, but it gets rough pretty much from the start and you have to learn its mechanics to the core.
pokemon, on the other hand, offers a very light RPG experience which can get a lot more complicated in the competitve scene- so you kinda get the best of both worlds, easy and challenging. so my suggestion is pokemon Y =]
Just wanted to post an update. I ended up getting Xenoblade and about 4 hours in, I'm glad I did. It's pretty good and I can't wait to see where the story goes.
Not knocking Pokemon, but Pokemon is Pokemon and I figured if I really want to play it, I can/should get the latest version. Which after playing this game and a few others will be Moon/Sun. So I hope that is a good gen to jump in when the time comes.
