Topic: WRC FIA World Rally any good?

I've been eyeballing this game for a bit due the horrid lack of racers on the 3ds....to be honest I thought it had been cancelled.......so the question is, is it any good? Here's hoping it will be released in NA.

i have seen some screenshots in the european eshop. not in 3D though. doesnt look very spectacular graphicalwise. i also hope this end up well. like in the 70-80 range of reviews. we need some racers for 3DS

i dont like the review site (4players) but i think they are right on this one. guess we need to play more ridge racer and mario kart 7 then

I read that review earlier and they certainly were not fond of the game. What makes you think they are right? I read their review of Need for Speed: The Run for comparison (it got only 35%) and having played that game I found the extent of their criticism of it unconvincing. In the absence of any other reviews I can't dispute their verdict on WRC, but I don't have too much faith in that site all the same.

tbh i think the game looks bad. the screenshots posted on miiverse looky really bad. the video doesnt look much better.

maybe i will get the game some day if i see it for 10€ in a bargain bin. but only because im curious

I haven't got the game, but that is the only video I could find.anywhere. I have found two more reviews (both in German again):

On 25 December they are releasing a demo on the eShop in Europe.
So you can judge for yourself.

a demo ! that is awesome! i will tell you what i think of it when i played it

I downloaded this game on the day it came out on the uk eshop.......

so my thoughts----- they could have done better....but it is quite a playable little game...turn 3d off for much better frame rates and use the bumper cam...
gameplay is fast!!!! it flies along which is good....there is no co driver which is a shame....there is no separate handbrake button....Ive unlocked 4 countries now and it seems to get better as you go along....its not a full on simulation at all quite arcadey but as i said it is strangely playable and ive spent quite a bit of time playing it.......so will give it a 6/10

okay i played the demo:

the game is awful! certainly the worst i have played on 3DS so far. the visuals are a joke. like a bad cellphone game. only good thing is that i could not notice any popups. that's the only positive aspect of the visuals.
sound is nothing special. the menu music is some dubstep stuff. i can not remember if there is ingame music.
gameplay..oh boy. so bad. the car controlls horribly. there is no freaking handbrake!!! a rally game without a handbreak. wtf?! when you push the circle pad just a tiny bit your car will go full right or left. so the controlls are digital even with the circle pad. i dont know if i have ever seen that before.

if you want a good racing game grab ridge racer 3D. it certainly feels different than any other racing game but if you get the hang of it, then you will love it!
