I'd probably say yes then. There's a good amount of content you haven't experienced yet, tons of new 3DS specific stuff and the fact that it's portable. If you ever feel like playing on your big HDTV then you can still play the original!

I'd say yes because its the only good portable version out.
...then again, I do own SFIV:CE 360, SFIV:CE PS3, SSFIV 360, SSFIV PS3, SSFIV3DE 3DS, and plan on purchasing the disc releases for SSFIV:AE for 360 and PS3... (my computer can't run it correctly with GFW:L and the iPhone/iPad version is absolute CRAP)
I've also bought almost every iteration of Street Fighter since the SNES days...SFII, SFII:T, SSFII, SF:C, SF:C2, SF:A, SF:A2, SFA3, SFIII, SFIII:DA, SFIII:TS, SFII:TR, SFA3:U, SF:AC...pretty sure I'm not missing any, especially with the ones that come in the Capcom compilations..., so yea, take my recommendation with that in mind, although it is the only real, seriously playable SFIV iteration that is on a handheld.

I might can you turn the lower screen for the moves off and how is the online.?
You can't turn the touch screen controls off,but you can change them from lite to pro. Lite is the one you've probably seeing a lot of. It's the one that lets you do ultra/super combos with just a touch. Pro on the other hand only helps you hit all punch or kick buttons at once. It also lets you perform heavy attacks and a grapple with the touch of a button. It can't be spammed like lite controls. The online is pretty great. There's not too much lag at all. I've been playing since the launch and I'd say out of 20 matches only 5 or 6 lagged, and only 2 of those lagged significantly. I think it was mostly when I played people outside my country that it lagged. Although you can play people in other countries without lag. I've fought plenty people half way across the world and no lag. So overall it's good. I would say if you want and only have the original SFlV for the console go ahead and get the 3DS version.
Could also buy supermario 64 can anyone tell me how it plays with the circlepad.
I'm playing through that right now and enjoy it a lot with the circle pad. Though it's still not true analog and you have to hold a button down to run. Once you get used to it, you won't even think about the controls.
if you were any good online in ps3 you'll wreck in 3ds. A lot of people haven't even gotten the hang of blocking....I low kicked/flash kicked this dude for an entire fight and he never caught on. Personally I recommend fighting on Pro Mode (set to disable touch screen) so you fight people that actually have to do the moves they're performing--I've actually learned a few things from some really good opponents (got smoked ) in that mode and you don't have constant Super/Ultra spams the entire fight.

^I'm impressed that you can even manage to press all three attack buttons at once.
Was that directed at me? =D ...learning to press three buttons at once is very important to your spacing and crossover game when your main character is Blanka. I'm still not at 100% to where I am with the console versions, but I'm getting up there.

Yeah, it was. I don't understand SFIV enough to really know what you're talking about, but isn't it easier just to use the touch screen in pro mode? I can't imagine a situation where it wouldn't be.

First off, let me state that I play only with the standard 6 button maximum and dpad regardless of whatever else is available and I've done so since the SNES days. Button Macros are the Lite mode of yesteryear and I find it to be a crutch. Anything you can do by a push of a button or a touch of the touchscreen can be done the way it was originally intended using the standard 6 buttons. I don't use macros, they make you lazy, just my personal opinion. That's why I remove everything except for LP, MP, HP, LK, MK, HK. I don't wanna ever catch myself taking the easy way no matter how desperate the situation may be, its my personal preference.
Okay, now that I have that out of the way. To answer your question, its really a trade off. For someone new to Street Fighter, touch screen may be easier because they just wanna pull off a move. For someone like myself, having to look away from the top screen and move my thumb away from either the dpad or away from the face (attack) buttons is unacceptable. A lot can go wrong for you in the time you look away from the action. For me, its easier to just stick with inputting everything myself, I don't need to stare anywhere I shouldn't and I have full access to all my attack buttons, combos can flow more naturally, etc.
Practice, practice, practice.
