Funny how I-U hates Uprising for "repetitiveness" when one of his favorite games is apparently Metroid Prime Hunters.

Metroid Prime Hunters allows me to make use of multiple weapons. When I've acquired all upgrades, the game isn't going to force me to pick one and stick with it for a stretch of 10-20 minutes. I can complete segments in Metroid Prime Hunters as I see fit, not be forced into a specific order of segments as Uprising is designed. The game's action is complemented with lite puzzles and exploration, both of which aren't there to provide extra layers to Uprising. I'm not being forced to listen to a constant stream of dialogue in Metroid Prime Hunters everywhere I go, rather I have the option of learning of the game's story and environments or simply focus on the gameplay. I can play as multiple characters in Metroid Prime Hunters each with several unique abilities to make the selection feel varied, this isn't the case with Uprising's selection. In multiplayer matches, Uprising is forced to one weapon, where as Metroid Prime Hunters provides several to a handful of weapon upgrades to develop a strategy with....

In other words, they're far from being comparable in terms of their repetition.

Anybody knows about more actual bad games? (not games you personally dislike, but real bad games)

It's just a harmless discussion.

No, I honestly can't name an objectively terrible game since video game quality is always subjective.

Just for you.

Don't waste your time trying to argue with him. The dude has spent +1000 hours playing Metroid Prime Hunters and he hates KI:U for some reason.

Getting this thread back on topic, Asphalt 3D is pretty terrible. Cubic Ninja is also supposed to be pretty bad, but I can't say for myself whether it is or not.

Okay I agree with @Chrono_Cross on this one.
Like how the heck do so many of you guys hate Kid Icarus so much???
Didn't NL give it an 8/10. If so it can't be that bad

We dont like it because we dont like it. People put too much stock in reviews. So because it got an 8, that makes everyone have to love it? I will make my own decisions thank you and I feel its a terrible game.

I agree. I mean, Other M got a 9/10 here at the site but it must have been Christmas or something then because that's way too generous in my opinion.

I never said that because a review is high that means you have to hate it, no, no. I just simply stated it got a high review score and was wondering why soo many of you hate. What are your reasons? Don't just say the unresponsive controls because I (me) have played this game and the controls are fine, so if that is all you have to complain about the game then that is pretty sad. Not liking it is one thing, but thinking it is the worst 3DS game is another entirely.

Wow! How the heck did Other M ever get a 9/10. I agree with you on that. No way it should have been that high, but at the same time there are so many people that rat on that game for being the absolute worst Wii game and blah blah blah. For me, it was an outstanding game aside from the constant bitching from Samus. But does that truly affect how the game plays? No, absolutely not. The other minor gripe was that for some of the power ups you had to wait for your general or whatever his name is to let you use a certain powerup. Metroid Other M in my opinion deserves at least a 7/10 and no more than an 8.5/10

Metroid and Zelda are my two favorite Nintendo franchises, however, I was really let down by Other M (and Twilight Princess, for that matter). I could write an essay on what I thought was wrong and what should have been changed. At this point in my life, ranting about Other M has become sort of a personal joke amongst me and some other NintendoLifers (@pixelman).

Just adding this in here: I understand that review scores can be handy when browsing through a list, and if a score is almost unanimous among reviewers then you can have more confidence of the game's quality. But I strongly recommend never using the scores. Read reviews, ignore the scores. The scores tell you almost nothing, the reviews give you information. A review can tell you what you need to know, and you can also gauge whether the upcoming score is going to be biased or not. But the scores themselves, ignore them. You can't compare scores across systems, between franchises... Crap games can get 9/10, great games can get 6/10. But a decent written review should tell you what you really need to know.

I've given my reasons a page or so back. I don't see how my liking of Metroid Prime Hunters has anything to do with whether I should like Uprising or not either. I guess when a game is so overpraised as Uprising I should expect logic to be all over the place.

Got it. Kid Icarus Uprising isn't the worst 3DS game, but it is the worst that I've played. It's more than the controls too, it's also the ridiculous level of repetition, the game working against itself in several key features (music, gameplay, voice acting), and the game working against immersion (stamina becoming a factor when getting into the flow of action). With all the issues accumulated, it's a disappointment.

Isn't the controls for MP Hunters nearly the same as Kid Icarus Uprising???
I can't think of any other games for the DS that have the controls like that other than those 2.

I tried MP Hunters the other day and absolutely hated the controls for it. It was extremely awkward. You think I would be biased for it considering the MP trilogy are my favorite games, but no, MP Hunters was a mistake of a game. They should try it again now that 3DS has a circle pad!

FINALLY, you get (at least part) of what I'm saying. I don't care anymore if you don't like it, just realize that there are those of that DO.

Moon, Dementium, Dementium II and Metroid Prime Hunters, all games I've completed and enjoyed, have nearly the same inputs as Uprising. The main problem with Uprising's controls though is how it executes the touch screen input, as it has flicks for turning and tapping to stop the turn. The mechanic just made the transition from one view to the next sloppy, as I often found my reticle sliding entirely away from where I intended it to be after doing a turn. In those four DS games, there's no flick turning required, and the transition from one view to the next is very smooth and the reticle is going exactly where I want it to be. Every time I do a session in Uprising, I try to replicate how I control those four DS games as much as I can in spite of a major difference always being made apparent. It's a reason why I don't completely hate Kid Icarus Uprising in terms of gameplay.

I would not think that at all. I actually would expect you to dislike Metroid Prime Hunters a lot given that the Metroid Prime Trilogy is your favorite collection of games, as that typically is how it goes with Metroid fans.

@I-U
How would you like to see a Metroid Prime GCN port to 3DS with both stylus and or circle pad pro.

Or better yet make a sequel to MP Hunters!

I have really wanted handheld ports of any of the console Metroid Prime games, as I would then be able to hear their music clearly. My consoles are shared, and so they're all located in the family living room which really goes against the music and sound effects of console experiences. The ability to play all Metroid Prime games anywhere would be fantastic as well. I definitely would love a sequel to Metroid Prime Hunters too with what the 3DS has to offer.
