Topic: Will we ever get a call of duty 3ds?

Considering that Activision owns the Call of Duty property, I would be surprised to not eventually see a COD game for the 3DS. Now, I highly doubt that it will be an original game (just look at how well Declassified worked out for Activision), but rather a port of the next Modern Warfare/Black Ops game.

To me the charm of the 3DS is offering experiences not to be found on other devices, Call of Duty is not part of that.

No need for that tone. Did my "to me" read not clear on your computer screen ? Attempt number 2: TO ME (yes me, I, the person writing, individual, shall I go on ?) the 3DS is about offering typical (Nintendo) games on the go, as in basically experiences that divert from typical (non-handheld) games played on my home consoles such as Call of Duty. So personally I'm not waiting for a Call of Duty on 3DS, if that is allowed by you at least ? Thanks.

You're taking my criticism the wrong way. The 3DS is no different than any other handheld in existence, so having a Call of Duty title on it wouldn't be such a bad. Actually, if this topic is anything to go by, a few of us wouldn't mind a remake, port or even sequel of CoD.

And just because you don't enjoy those types of games, doesn't mean you have to have your nose in the air about it.

Just for you.

You took my words the wrong way to start with and quite evidently saw the necessity to launch an undertone as if I just said something utterly ridiculous while I just simply gave my opinion why I'm not excited by a Call Of Duty on the 3DS. I personally bought the 3DS to play typical handheld games and to play Nintendo games, which is a very nice addition next to my PS3 and XBOX360 where I play Call of Duty mind you. Now again, unless you want me to write it down in a few languages, that's my personal motivation and opinion, I never said at any point in time others can't look forward to Call of Duty !

And just because I'm not excited by the thought of Call of Duty on 3DS, doesn't mean you have to have your noise in the air about it.

Activision wants money. 3DS is really only selling well in Japan. I doubt they'll take the time to make a 3DS COD. Maybe a 3DS version of the next main game, but even that I doubt.

See, the thing is, you're probably right.

Except they made a COD for the Vita, and that thing hasn't even broken 3 million thus far.

This is a signature.
Link goes here now.
Screw you.

@waltz I kinda agreed until you said that the calling of names and homophobes were doing the industry right.... :/

I don't condone their behaviour, but look at the numbers - Call of Duty fans pay full price to buy the game on day one. That game sets all kinds of records for first weekend sales, before the second hand market kicks in. That's how you support the industry.

That sounds to me like that's how someone sustains the industry. If they were to really support the industry in my opinion, they need lots of money to buy a handful of games (2-3) almost every major release cycles of games in general (Spring, Summer, Fall, Holiday Season). With blockbuster games like Call of Duty and Skyrim taking away other potential purchases (looks like that to me), I can get an idea of what @NimH means. Really, this kind of phenomenon isn't really anyone's fault in my opinion. Rather, it's a naturally occurring process that will change if the overall bad effects (i.e. over-reliance of franchises, potentially stifled creativity due to competition with popular franchises, harmful consumer attitudes and expectations) worsen and continue to prevail.

As for the topic, I don't care that no Call of Duty is on the 3DS. I hope to buy 1 more Call of Duty game before I disconnect from the franchise.

And that's how market dynamics work. Idea becomes popular, makes someone lots of money. Lots of people copy idea. Lots of people make money. Eventually consumers get sick of idea and lots of people go bankrupt, but it's ok because new idea has just become popular.

Buying the most popular games at retail is still supporting that market dynamic. Buying second hand or discounted games is not. They guy that bought Skyrim and COD and nothing else last year has done more for the industry than the guy that bought 40 JRPGs or platformers or strategy games, all discounted or second hand, and then goes and lectures people on an Internet forum about how COD is ruining the market.

Sony likely offered Activision incentives that Nintendo has not.

They could make a great COD on it if they ditch the single player campaign/story and just concentrated on multiplayer and zombies

Or do something like Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars which is my opinion quite a decent spin-off of a popular shooter.

I really want COD for 3DS. It would be epic. Also with a online feature. If they ever make a COD on 3DS, im gonna get it.
