Topic: Will the 3DS Smash Bros be more graphically advanced then its Wii predecessor?

I think it will look slightly better than SSBB. Plus it'll be 3D, which I predict will look fantastic on stages with detailed, moving backgrounds.

I heard that they weren't focusing on the 3D, so it might have 3D, and if it does, it might not be as good because they are focusing on the game, not the 3D.

But I hope it's in 3D.

Yeah, fighting games really needs to hold a steady FPS rate. Any slowdown would be absolutely terrible in a fighting game, so I can get it if they're not focusing on 3D since it'll make the frame rate harder to manage.

It'll have nicer shaders, a lower poly count and a worse framerate.

I think if they can get the 3DS version running at 60fps 2D and 30fps 3D, that'd be great. I will marry Sakurai if he can get it to run at 60fps 3D. (NOT REALLY LOL)
No 3D in multiplayer, though.

By MKWii and MK7 I was reffering to the fact that they both are about equal guys. They both gave online, but with minor issues. They both have great graphics, but neither is remotely better than the other. 3ds and Wii may not have the same specs, but it is all about the screen size and how a system is used. SSBB and SSB3D will in fact have similar graphics, with 3ds winning out in a marginal difference.

its going to look better on the wiiU but the wii SSB will look better then the 3ds version as you saw the comparison of the 3ds mario kart to the wii mario kart the wii mario kart looks better

I disagree – MKWii looks a bazillion (exaggerating) times better than 7. 7 is very rough-edged and bland, and has significantly less special effects.

Which is where I'm getting at...less details, even polygon count. I have both systems and awesome looking games on both and can tell the difference. Wii looks better.

Like others have said, the games are going to look progressively better as the 3DS ages. Smash Bros obviously isn't going to come around for a couple years or so, thus it will have more advanced performance and appearance then the games we have now.

On the actual 3DS screen, MK7 looks miles better IMO. No pun intended.

I can see where you're coming from, and yes MKW is better looking than 3ds. What I'm saying is that SSBB may have better looking graphics, but 3ds SSB will win out because of no lag (hopefully), and it will have great graphics. Maybe not as great as SSBB, but Nintendo will find a way to add visual flair to the game. Although I can see what you mean. But it will be really close overall.

Wii games look better but Nintendo are basically the only ones who actually could get the games to look that good on Wii so the 3DS game looks at least on par with any 3rd party Wii title. And that's saying something since if it wasn't for Retro it probably would have been an incredibly rushed looking game.

Resi Revelations looks better than most Nintendo Wii games.
