You have to give it time, the game selection is usually not that great at launch anyway
Except the Wii, which had a great launch selection. And that's why 3DS is not worth buying straight away.
You obviously know more than I do because no titles have been announced as launch titles
I thought the Japanese launch titles were announced? I'd say that's at least an indication of what will be released in NA. I remember Kid Icarus wasn't among the list, which was causing some confusion.

Nah, the launch titles for regions differ on each platform, so nothing is concrete until the 19th

I personally feel if you have the console at launch your getting the most value as you have the console for the whole life span and it is not fun too pay to £50 less than at launch and have half the life cycle if it turns out to be a great console.I felt this as I was a gba sp late adopter and support dried up quickly.

Yes, but the Japanese launch titles give an indication of what's ready for release in Japan, which is where they're developing all of the first party titles. After they're finished, they have to go through translation, which takes time.
Hope I'm wrong though. I want to buy Kid Icarus, Paper Mario, and Ocarina of Time at launch.
Considering this is a launch title it might just be worth buying at launch.

On top of everything else it'll be worth buying for me just to have a bigger screen to play my old DS games on than my 5-year old, regular Nintendogs Edition turquoise DS. Skipped all other DS versions, so it'll almost be like playing some DS games for the first time! And then the little things like 3D, VC and so forth. Can't wait for March!
Let's attack aggressively, kupo! :D

Hopefully Chocobo Racing is a launch title. Or Samurai Warriors. Either of those and I'd be happy.
Samurai Warriors is a launch title in the US, KT confirmed both it and DOA: Dimensions at the same time.

Not really. If you wait you have the best of the library to choose from. I didn't jump on the DS bandwagon until the DSi, so I still have plenty of games I'd like to play and catch up on. It is difficult to find some of the older games I want, but I can always get anything used from ebay. If there's not a whole lot at launch, I can't get games from the future (though 3DSWare will likely provide a lot to do while waiting for more retail games). Also, if you only wait a year or two, most good games (even launch titles) still won't be that difficult to find new, and even if they are, will still be filling up the used game bins, so it wouldn't be hard to find the game in good condition.
Plus, if you wait on one console, your backlog makes it easier to wait on the next a bit.
I am way too lazy to think of something clever. My Backloggery
That is so not worth it lol. Well if you have a DS Phat. I'd rather just keep mine because mine's way too messed up (cracks, top screen at times turns white, etc) I can't sell it on eBay for those reasons so eh, what the hell.
I've played close to 70 DS games (I currently have 32) so I'm just about done with that console. Only 4 or 5 more games (Mario v DK MM, Pokemon B, Kirby DS, Okamiden, Prof L Spectre's Fl) to get and that may well be that. It's therefore natural for me to go for the 3DS handheld quite soon. I also need the storage solution for dsiware as well. You can play DS games on the 3DS too remember. I may well trade in my DSi to fund more 3DS purchases. I passed up on the Xbox Kinect (good decision by the looks of it so far) to save for the 3DS
Im still not sure if i should buy day 1 as my psp and ds still have some life left but i will want it when i see it on sale in store there will only be 10 or 15 full priced titles at launch.

My advice: Get a lightly-used one online a few month's after release there are always ungrateful kids who get these things, and then sell them when the "new gadget" effect wears off.
Using this method, I was able to get my blue DSi for $40 off! The box was a bit beaten up, but the system was in pristine condition! Not a single scratch or blemish and the previous owner even did me the favor of installing a fresh set of screen protectors on both screens. I was even able to redeem the initial free 1000 DSi points! Finally, It also came with extra screen protectors/game case (in light blue) and a car charger!
Later down the line, I also bought this case at gamestop.
Overall, I'm a bit bummed that the 3DS will have a smaller touch screen again. I found that the extra 0.25 inches made a BIG difference. I hope they make screen protectors for the 3ds's top screen, I wound hate to scratch that gorgeous lCD.
