PS- That works for DS, DSLite, DSi, DSiXL and 3DS.

PPS- The button might switch back to not working again. If so, blow into it again!

My DS Lite and DSi both have problems with their shoulder buttons and the blowing thing works, but it never fixes it for very long.
Got my fingers crossed that this doesn't happen to my 3DS.

My L and R buttons are kinda creaky/squeaky. I want to put some kind of lubricant on them, but a) idk if that will solve the problem and b) idk if WD-40 or whatever is exactly healthy for electronics.

If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

No, they're probably the best handheld shoulder buttons I've ever used. Hopefully they'll hold up. :3

Well mine seems like the R button is shot. I must have tried pressing it twenty times to switch the item screen in Minish cap by now and nothing is happening.

The DS Models' triggers have a design flaw that causesdust to collect under them. Blow away the dust, and the buttons work. Only problem is that, sometimes, you're blowing the dust into the system. It starts stopping to help the triggers, and then the dust inside the electronics messes up other stuff. At least, that's what I've heard. Seems about accurate. Blowing stopped helping my DS Lite and DSi triggers a while back, and I've heard a few people saying the blowing caused screen flickering etcetera.

After a ton of Mario Kart 7, the triggers feel a tad iffy. I think they're just getting worn in, though. I hope they don't go...

That's true, that's why I stopped using any game that required the R or L buttons during the DSi era... I hope it nevers happens with my 3DS.

Well what you can do is within a year of your purchase of the 3DS, register the system to Club Nintendo, and file a repair issue with them. Then you can send it out and get it replaced for free, just so long as you feel it "might" need a tune-up. Then they send it back and you get another year-long warrenty. Lather, rinse, repeat and you have a spiffy 3DS, just make sure to do this before it expires.

L button doesn't work sometimes. Never had problems with DS Lite's shoulder buttons but on the day I got my Kid Icarus: Uprising the L button started to not work all that great. Sometimes it still works just fine but usually I have to push the button a couple of times before it registers. Uprising was too much for my L button.

It's its, not it's.

I have been doing that but, its no longer working, I'm going to sent it in to nintendo, before it gets worst.

My DSi shoulder buttons are completely broken. Only took a couple of years.
