After Wednesdays direct and the announcement of the Links awakening remake for Switch (which had been heavily rumoured to be in development for 3ds) is it safe to say Nintendo has no more planned games for the console? Will Persona Q2 be the last major title?

I mean, it's not like anyone's 3DS and games are going to suddenly disappear.
it won't get new games, but it still has a lot of old games worth playing.

I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo has one more 3DS game (100% chance that it's a port) left for holiday 2019, but I don't think there'll be any new 3DS games after.

After the 3DS is finished I hope it lives on under Nintendo Switch Online-Nintendo 3DS classics in a few years.

I could see Nintendo wanting to localize Yo-Kai Watch Blasters 2. Considering they have already localized all Yo-Kai Watch 3DS games up to this point (with the exception of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms crossover, as is somewhat standard with the series).

I hope not.

Probably. At the very least it will likely be the last Nintendo-published retail 3DS game. Any ports should go to Switch. Luigi's Mansion really should've been on Switch. I do think Nintendo is finally more than ready to start burying the 3DS after its great life.

Given the fact that they recently slashed the sales projections for 3DS this year I would say that it drastically underperformed in 2018 and that will effect whatever plans they had for it in 2019. I would be surprised in Nintendo published anything in the second half of the year unless it was a localized game from Japan (Yo-Kai Blasters 2).

It is sad but true that whenever Nintendo launch a new piece of hardware there are always games that start off in development for the old kit and then jump to the new one. I am sure that is what happened with Link's Awakening. You can't blame the developers for wanting their game to have the best chance of succeeding and these days that means being on Switch.
