If you can be bothered to look outside your backyard, there is a whole world who uses 3G and aren't joined at the hip to one provider to get the 3G service.

Except I hear a lot of complaints about AT&T's lovely service. Also, my family and I dropped them like a rock because they are a lousy service provider.

And what about iphones and androids that use 3G? Aren't they stuck with AT&T?

And what about the point of my post? There are 300M people in America, what about the billions who don't have to use AT&T and have multiple choices for their 3G cell service? In Canada you have Bell, Rogers and Telus to name the three major heavy hitters.

That's fantastic. You forget the Vita is using AT&T only

Yeah, Nintendo is living in the past. Sony sees the new wave. That's why they're offering a 3G version and that's why they're embracing all those companies making games for the smart phones. Sony is going to try to beat them by joining them.

You really think 3G with AT&T is the new wave? You're real funny

I also want to point something else out: we've been paying close attention to the indie developers that made great games. Now let's count the amount of crap games made by indie developers. That's pretty much the overwhelming majority there

hahaha good point. so many bullcrap in the indie zone. but still, they really should have a guy spotting the great from the crap, and help them good. those indie people ensure originality in this gaming world. those big hitters aim for money. those indies aim for entertainment.
when i bought my 3ds, i aimed for entertainment too0, which nintendo gave me since the NES.

and seriously, i dont see why people are that upset, i love my 3ds. it keeps on improving too, so its not a lost cause like some try to think so hard. if it keeps on improving, where will it be in 2 years.
probably slimmer with a XL screen (this reminds me the same process hollywood stars are going thru, slimmer with XL B.....bs)

You don't seem to get it. AT&T is the U.S. carrier. There is entire world outside America. America is a drop in the bucket. There are many other drops elsewhere. AT&T is the U.S. carrier. For example, as far as I know, AT&T doesn't exist in Canada outside of business services. AT&T is the U.S. carrier.

I like my 3DS. Go look at the past history of consoles that were forced to price cut. If past events are a sign of future trends then the 3DS is probably looking to have an N64 presence in the market at best. That's not bad but they're no longer going to be top dog at best.

@Apollo: Well if that's the case then who is the Vita using? They can still use AT&T because the network is still worldwide.

You find me one Canadian who lives in Canada, who uses their phone in Canada and who has AT&T as their provider. Good luck to you.

Did you dodge the question? We're talking about a game system here

You don't understand how cell phone service works. AT&T is the U.S. provider. There will be at least one provider announced in Canada, at least one in the UK, Japan, etc. and it won't be AT&T unless they have a presence in that country and there is agreement in place for them to provide that country with the service. AT&T doesn't have a presence in Canada, they don't provide services there and so the carrier won't be AT&T there. Do you understand now? AT&T came to an agreement to provide the 3G service exclusively for the Vita for Americans in America.

the bottom line is that we don't know why Nintendo isn't 'doing this'. you're more than welcome to contact them and suggest that they do so, but that's quite enough of the off-topic arguing, thank you.
