some people rarely see the 3D. i passed my 3ds into several hands, a 2 people really couldnt stand it. the first has serious eyes probleme and wear special lens to see properly. this didnt even surprise me that he could see the 3d without pain.
the second one saw it buggy and just didnt had interest to really try to see it.

so... headache ? nope i doubt so, unless you got some eye problems. even my, i got a real bad eye vision with astigmatism and i never had any problem except the first 5 or 10 minutes. where you need to test it to see it ok.

yeah I almost always have the 3D on, except when my battery is low and I need to conserve power, I've never had a physical adverse reaction

No, I never had one either and I played Zelda for about 2 hours straight with no breaks

I had a migrane once after a long time playing OOT 3D... I attributed it to a caffeine withdrawal. Maybe I was wrong?

I don't always give myself signatures, but when I do, you just read it.

I always keep my 3D on unless I need to shoot my bow or Slingshot

3D is hit and miss depending on the game and the motions you will do to the 3DS or your head getting into it. Doing a game where you need a sharp eye on very small objects make it an ungodly pain in the ass (Bit Trip Saga with pixel sized bullets) but in games where you need a more depth filled environment(Zelda, Pilotwings) it really brings out more value into the title from creating that range as it can help with distances, countering what comes up, and so on.

No, I just think people make a big deal about it to make nintendo look bad. I turn the 3D all the way up.

No people do get headaches's or can't see it. why do you think nintendo has the slider and doesn't even require that 3D be in games.

Nintendo said it themselves that everyone can experience the 3D differently, get headaches, or may not even see it at all. For me it works perfectly, and only get a headache after the next hour or so with it on.

Turning the 3D off in 3DS games insantly zaps the magic out of them and makes them completely dull and lifeless in comparison. I rock the Slider at 100% and it's a flat out total eye popping and amazing game changer. It blows my mind that a lot of you keep it off...If the 3DS didn't have 3D I probably wouldn't of even bought one by now.....Because it would just be another DS with prettier graphics and Gyro controls.

3D makes the experience 10x greater.

Also 3DS games look softer/worse when the 3D is off as well....Where as besides the 3D effect being totaly awesome you get a sharper image over all. Think about it, if it didn't have 3D the games would be such a massive step back gameplay wise. Playing Monkey Ball, PilotWings Resort and even the upcoming RE: Revelations with the analog stick blows in comparison to motion controls...The 3D is the saving grace here.

3D makes the experience 10x greater. And I'm greatly looking forward to 3D for the Wii U.

I actually found the opposite to be true. The 3D on makes the games somewhat blurry. I can't even see the 3D, all I see is double images or nothing at all, so I just leave it off.

And the 3DS is just a more powerful DS with gyro controls. Just like how the Super NES was a more powerful NES with added controller buttons, and the PS2 was a more powerful PS1 that also played DVDs.

I agree with you to a certain extent, Waveboy. I love the 3D and I think it's an amazing effect. I use it all the time. But I didn't buy the 3DS because and only because of the 3D. I would have bought it even if it hadn't been 3D. The improved graphics would have been more than enough to sway me, along with the gyro controls (which would have more appeal if 3D didn't exist, but that's beside the point). The DS's graphics were starting to get a little dated, anyway. Besides the games that featured sprites (I love sprites) I was longing for some 3D games with improved graphics.

By the way, I'm not normally all about graphics. I'm more of a gameplay > graphics kind of guy, so it's saying something when I say the 3DS provides a much-needed graphics upgrade.

If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

Anyone notice water gets an extra effect when 3D is on, as well? Very noticeable in the Lake Hylia area. I don't suppose there's an explanation for that...?

I noticed that too, when the 3D was turned off it made the water lose textures. I also noticed that when I was looking at things from far away I could notice the details more when the 3D was turned on.

DS graphics were dated from the beginning. PS1-era graphics in 2004? No thanks. The PSP had much better looking games than the DS, and the analog nub allowed for better control in 3D games. Now that the 3DS has surpassed the PSP in graphics and controls, it will make for a much better gaming experience all around.
