So I got the special edition Monster Hunter N3DSXL (what an acronym!) and the collectors edition of Monster Hunter. I effectively have two copies of the game; one physical and one digital. I decided to give a friend of mine the digital copy that was predownloaded to the system via a system transfer. Everything went off without a hitch except for one little issue: You are not allowed to perform a second transfer for seven days. That means I cant transfer my data from my old 3DS to my New for a week. So my question is why. Why the week long wait? What does that accomplish? Is there actually a good reason that my shiny new system is now sitting on a shelf, ticking down a meaningless timer instead of being played?
Actually I would prefer the five transfers to this. At least that way I wouldn't have to wait, and these are already unusual circumstances in which I am performing two transfers. I don't think I could work my way up to five if I wanted to. The question still remains: what is the point of these ridiculous limits? Is it some kind of piracy control? If so it is far beyond me.

Taking into account that the transfer is always locally, I'd say it's because Nintendo doesn't want family members or friends to transfer their games from one system to another frequently, which is weird because that was much easier to do when we use cartridges. I don't understand it either. Another Nin-weird-thing.
I really don't like the navigation bar of Nintendo Life continuously reappearing while browsing!!

It's a weird question because they did exactly to prevent this kind of behavior. Physical cartridges are transferable but they don't want to allow it for digital games, just like was mentioned above. It is pretty simple and understandable. The transfer is only for migrating from one 3DS to another when you buy a new one. That's its purpose. They try to prevent any other usage of it.
See this wouldn't even be an issue if they just gave me a download code, but that's beside the point. @dumedum It's still really weird. It isn't like anyone is attempting to let people borrow their games through system transfers. It would already be far too tedious to do it regularly. In that case you might as well give them the whole console since the original system gets wiped in the process.
you can transfer data 1once a week I think its telling you I just sat through 3hrs of a stupid system transfer man thoese things are painfull too sit through but and I think its unlimited expect pretend I didn't say that and just think of it as 1once a week transfer its kind of unlimited
