I'd personally love it if the Pokémon's cries in-game were changed to their anime cries. And, if necessary, be able to turn the feature off and return to the game's sounds.
I like that idea.

Personally, I never really liked how they say their names... it really makes no sense... that's one of (many) reasons why I liked the Origins Anime so much, because they make animal-like noises instead, which is much better in my opinion.
I would say I dislike the new cries, but I'm still getting used to some of the ones they did change instead of improve. I guess it's due to years of hearing the old cries so much, I subconsciously memorized a large amount of them (very useful in Pokedex 3D Pro).
I would like it if they have their anime cries though. It have more personally to them then like joy, sadness, gender, etc. It doesn't have to be in the handheld series due to possible limitations but I would like to hear it in the console versions.

I have to say I agree, I think Pikachu is pretty cool! And maybe some others but I agree with the person who says they have ruined Staraptor's amazing cry! That was one of my favourites! Aswell as Honchkrow and Reshiram! I was lucky enough to get a Reshiram in the world trade and was so surprised when I heard it, I would replay the title of pokemon black over and over to hear it's cool cry before I managed to catch him! Now he just sounds really weird A lot of them barely sound the same at all.

The cries in the anime were fine in the first 2 gens, then they went all awkward. One of the reasons I couldn't stand watching the fifth movie is because Latios and Latias sounded so awkward.
Looking back at some of the cries, I just now realized that Rhyhorn's cry sounds just like Charmander's but in a lower pitch... Thinking more about it, there were a few that sound quite similar...

I can live with the new cries of all the Pokemon.
But I am a bit annoyed that Pikachu was the only one who got an anime cry, it would have been nice if there was an option to switch between his anime cry and game cry.
Tbh most of the new cries for older pokemon sound terrible. As someone who's been with pokemon since the beginning, i can honestly say they've ruined most of their cries (of course its just my opinion) there are very few that ive accepted as "better than the original"
