I consider this game to be polarizing. Am I rght? Do just as much people who like Uprising, were disappointed as well? Some go against it's dialogue, some go against the gameplay, and others find the controls to be the main flaw.
I would personally call Kid Icarus Uprising my favorite 3DS game, but where do you sit on. Were you happy with Kid Icarus, or disappointed with the game?
I'm still undecided whether the controversial elements of the game were ultimately a good idea or not, but the game is quite good regardless. And it was the first 3DS game worth high praise in any real way (barring maybe RE: Revelations), so there's that. Also, deserves some credit because like a lot of Nintendo's more not as popular games, I can think of literally nothing that this game is like. I mean, the closest would be Star Fox Assault, but that had nothing like the more cinematic parts of the flying sections, and the ground levels in Uprising are quite linear instead of arenas and the gameplay in general was a bit different even ignoring the controls.
I was dissapointed in how short it was. I was extremely dissapointed with kid icarus uprising.
Did you finish the game? I found it to be a great size.
I love KI:U. It was a great experience all-in-all.
I foresee what you'll do there.

I like Kid Icarus: Uprising. The first chapter in that game is amazing. It does the same emotional feeling that Super Mario 3D Land's first level did for me when I first started the game. That same: "Oh, man. This is gonna be good."
HOWEVER... Kid Icarus: Uprising had flaws. Here are my flaws of the game: We shoulda got more Dark Pit playing time, we shoulda got more Magnus playing time, the story is short and should be longer, Pitt's personality is generic...its incredibly generic for an anime video game character, and the lack of feeling immersed in the game because of the game wasn't a true open world experience. The multiplayer is great. REALLY good.
I give KI: U a 4.25 outta 5 stars. It was on the road to becoming legendary...but it feel short.

How was it short? Like it's a handheld schmup/3rd person shooter that's like a dozen hours and it is made to be replayed. I genuinely thought it was gonna be way shorter, hence why the story actually tricked me.
Neither. I was disappinted after seeing the trailers, but rented it anyways to see if I'd like it. I didn't, but it wasn't quite as bad as I expected either.

In my opinion, I felt like the story was short. Yeah, the game has a huge replayability factor going for it and its a major selling point. BUT... that story was just too short to me. Its just like... As soon as the gamer just starts to like the universe of KI and its characters.... the game abruptly ends and what do we get at the end? Oh, yeah. That unsatisfying mode that puts the gamer against nonstop boss fights. I'm not saying the ending of KI was bad but JEEZ. Would it have hurt to explore more as Dark Pit or Magnus or give Pit some alternate "what if" Arcs???? This game has too much potential that hasn't been touched.

Well true but that isn't because it's short. It's because the story got distracted by EVERYTHING POSSIBLE. Like did we really need an alien attack?
How can you utter those words. But seriously seeing as the story of Kid Icarus Uprising is parody of Shonen anime its a bit endering that between arcs the story goes through filler from time to time.
WAT!

One of, if not my favorite game on the 3DS. Really fun 3rd person shooter with some wacky dialogue, references to other Nintendo franchises and an incredibly deep weapon system. Tons of replayability and stuff to unlock, too.
Even after all the heavy hitters this year its still the best 3ds game on the system. Nothing has knocked it off the top for me. As far as the story being short I guess its ones opinion but it has one of the longest stories I've ever seen outside of an rpg. The constant talking throughout was at times some of the funniest I've ever heard and I personally thought the voice acting was top notch! I can see why some didn't like it or had a difficult time with the controls but a lot of good games take time to learn and most people are lazy! Monster Hunter I'm looking at you!! Best presentation yet for any 3ds game. Fire Embelm comes close!!

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
Crazy how opinions differ on this game. I LOVED it! Like favourite 3DS game loved it! The on foot segments controlled really well and it was full of lots of little secrets. Level design was great and I loved the way you set your own difficulty level. I've played the origanl and it was ok, but didn't love it. Uprising though, I love it!
Really liked it, but the controls never really clicked for me. I ended up having to play in a weird bent up position with it resting on my knees, and even then it never really felt good. But the gameplay itself was fantastic.

If it was any longer, you'd be complaining that Smash Bros is launching in 2016, so I take this with a grain of salt.
Sakurai set out to do what he wanted to the series, did it, and I love it. I have over 300 hours in it, so length is determined by how much you play, not just the story.
The controls could have used some work, but I'm fine with them, they don't even bother me much being left handed.
