Topic: When is Mario Kart coming for the 3DS?

I thought it was supposed to be released the same date as OoT and Super Mario. =(

I am just disappointed.

Pretend like your from the oldin' days, like a farmer or something, when waiting was something you had to do all the time. Read a book, go for long walks, talk to a friend, teach a dog how to sit, watch a soap opera, beat up somebody that's smaller than you for milk money. After all that it should be out.

But then you'd have a Project Cafe game with DS graphics.

I will never understand why people make forum topics like "When is _____ coming out?"

Of course not. Different resolution or framerate doesn´t matter. They just need to sync the internal clocks. How do you think it works in the pc world? You only compete with people that has the exact same resolution and framerate as you? A closer example would be MKW where you already have three different resolutions and two different framerates online at the same time.

I am always open to new information about when games come out.

I never said anything about online play (and internal clocks don't make a difference, either). Postponing a game just to release it on four systems at once, two of which would be obsolete? That would be the most out-of-character decision Nintendo has ever made, and probably the worst. They would not port it to Cafe with HD assets. They would use HD assets to make an entirely new Mario Kart game, specifically designed for Cafe. And porting a 3DS game to DS and Wii? You can't be serious.

the box... think outside the box. Sure releasing it for DS and Wii is maybe too much to ask but 3DS and "Café"... that would be a glimmering idea.

That would be a lose/lose situation. We would get an old game when we could have gotten a new one, and Nintendo sells less copies.

Old game?? So when a game is released for multiple consoles you consider all but one old? If the xbox version is released a week before pc, ps3 and wii, only the xbox version is new?? Instead think of if the benefits if it was possible to join a game not considering what hardware you bought a year ago. Would that be good or bad? I think it would be great and the userbase should gain on all consoles.

Mario Kart 3DS is supposed to be out this year, and we probably won't get Cafe until late 2012. If they delayed it, then all that time they could have been working on a new game. By releasing the 3DS game on Cafe instead of a new one, they would lose money because they put in all that extra work and it's still Mario Kart 3DS. And the possibility of joining a game doesn't change. An online game is an online game, whether it's for one console or all of them. In Mario Kart it just sticks you in a random race, anyway, and friend codes aren't cross-platform.

I agree with rift, they should make a different mario kart for the wii successor not the same as the 3DS one.

Well, I think/hope Café´s out late 2011 and I also think it would be a great idea to unite the online playroom between games of different consoles. With a huge fanbase, Mario Kart would be good as first in line for such a feature. I guess you guys are happy with things the way things are.

I have been asking this for a long time. What is Café?
