After you play it for a long time it gets really really warm. So then I put on my forehead, down my pants, or on my lower back. It's so soothing and relaxing it's unreal.
Digitaloggery 3DS FC: Otaku1 WiiU: 013017970991 Nintendo of Japan niconico community is full of kawaii! Must finish my backlagg or at least get close this year W...
While the DS games seemed a bit too blurry to me at first(I had a DSi XL prior to the 3DS so the quality seemed especially low), it's definitely grown on me. So much, in fact, that I've clocked more than 28 hours on Pokemon HeartGold on my 3DS without skipping a beat.
My favorite thing about the 3DS is its ultra backwards compatibility. I'm not just talking about the immense catalog of DS games playable on the system, but also the Virtual Console. With Gameboy & Gameboy Color games already available, NES & GBA games coming soon (Ambassador FTW) and Turbografx 16 & Sega Game Gear games still on their way, the 3DS is the perfect portable for the retro gamer.
This is even evidenced by the 3DS games themselves, with N64 remakes such as Ocarina of Time, Star Fox 64, and Rayman 2, with more great titles being ported over as well, chief among them being Metal Gear Solid 3 and Tales of the Abyss.
So while I'm definitely looking forward to new titles (such as Super Mario 3D Land), what sold me on the 3DS was the old games playable on the system.
I have a feeling MechaPhoenix might just be kidding; he's been a member here for a few years now. But then again, I can't recall seeing a post of his before and his veteran status doesn't automatically mean he loves all things Nintendo lol
Correction: Feenie is a she.
My apologies! It's difficult to tell when you aren't really given any hints or indicators lol
And the Wii's playtime count was a good baby step. The Activity Log, however, excells because it adds all those hours up for you.
And I agree with just about everyone here hahah I love my 3DS and all of its awesome features!

The blurriness doesn't bother me. I have NSMB and Pokemon Black, and both look fine. I think the blurriness helps to smooth out the jaggies, making the games look a bit better.
Even if you don't like blurriness, theirs still tiny mode.(hold select when you play a ds game). Personally, my favorite feature would have to be the eshop, as their are a hell of a lot more quality titles to buy and play then I thought their were.
I like the enhanced graphics. The old DS polygons are gross, but with the better graphics it opens a new world of possibilities for developers (ex. Super Street Fighter 4 3D edition, Resident Evil Mercenaries 3D, Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D, games that require better graphics to look good, and it allows them to recreate older games with better graphics). Now, I'm not saying that graphics are everything, but does add a nice touch, and having good graphics for portables is something I really like. It's like playing console games in my hand! I mean, OoT was originally a console game, but now it's been remade into a portable device with much better graphics and features. It really is amazing, when you think about it. And overall, it's a really nice device, but it just needs some better games.
While I agree with most of what you said, there is one thing I will never understand. People say that graphics don't matter, but in a way they DO matter. We judge things by sight, and the visuals of a game is the first thing people notice. If graphics didn't matter, then we'd have no need to upgrade our game systems every few years, and developers wouldn't be improving the way their games look.
OK, I suppose I worded that wrong. I truly go by gameplay when deciding if I like a game or not, but graphics aren't bad either. I think that both determine wether a game is good or not, and no, the graphics don't NEED to be good, it's just nice to have them. I really only meant that I was excited that it had better graphics. And I wouldn't determine how I feel about the 3DS by gameplay, because, well, that'd be for the game, not the system itself.
My favorite thing is the Virtual Console games. The 3D games and StreetPass are just icing on the cake for me. I never had any form of Gameboy as a kid so getting to play these new (to me) retro games makes my heart smile.

For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
It's the only system that isn't completely "need my HARDCORE GENERIC SHOOTERS" dudebro pandering, Lowest Common Denominator obsessed system right now (as Wii is dead and Wii U is just what I said for the most part).
LordJumpMad could learn a thing or two from MechaPhoenix.
everyone could learn a thing or two from MechaPhoenix most of those things are not NL-appropriate, though D:
