Does anybody know if it's okay to play with it while it's being charged up?

Sure it's okay, but it'll drain the battery life over time.

If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

You think it's better to fully charge it before using it?

Yes, I think so. Don't charge the battery when it's half-full. Wait until the battery dies.

Lol, I feel like a hypocrite because I don't do that at all. I just play and charge, even though I know it's not good for the battery.

I'm pretty sure that's only the case with older rechargable batteries, not newer lithium-ion ones like the 3DS uses. I think those you can charge and dicharge as much and as often as you like (within reason) without causing damage. In fact, letting a li-ion battery fully discharge can actually cause damage! Have a read of this article for more info.

And what about the first charge? Should I play and wait until the battery dies or what?

I think the first thing I'm going to do is play with the AR cards.

haha save the fact that I'd be playing Sony consoles, really I would play around with the camera a bit (after messing with settings and stuff). since I wouldn't have any new software yet, I'd probably mess with those AR cards some after the camera fun wears off.

I'm going to put it in the blender and drink a 3d smoothie.

1. Open the box
2. Remove the contents
3. Apply screen protectors
4. Charge the device
5. Breathe in that fresh console smell!!

I don't think it really matters, but since the manual says to fully charge it before its first use I'd do that.

Augmented Reality FTW!
Then a 3D photo, then go play something.

But I won't be doing that for a while as I'm waiting for the system.

First off I'll thank God that I've been blessed to even have a 3DS in my hands at long last and then I'll try out the AR Cards and retire it to my dresser until Kid Icarus and Animal Crossing 3DS are released if I don't buy PilotWings Resort.
