I really hope they continue the style of Galaxy but with more craziness in the level design. I prefer my Mario games straightforward with a bit of exploration than Mario Sunshine and such. I also really hope they tweak the story up a bit, Rosalina was a step in the right direction?

I don't think that's going to happen as long as Miyamoto is at the helm. Galaxy's director said he had to fight to get that story in and when Galaxy 2 came around Miyamoto said no too more story.

WAT!

True. Koizumi tries to fit stories into his games (Link's Awakening, Ocarina of Time, Galaxy) in ways that they don't interfere with the gameplay. In OoT, he managed to make the player know the story by talking with characters and Gossip Stones instead of cutscenes, and in Galaxy, Rosalina's story was completely optional. He can still manage to fit a story in Mario Wii U.

Im Hoping they Go back to the open world mario games like Sunshine and 64. Wouldn't mind some three types of gamplay.

Hub World- A world similar to the Skyloft from SS and and the Observation deck from Galaxy.
Overworld- After you leave their you get a free roaming place where you go to the levels. It has stars and monsters and stuff to do.
Gamefield- Upon leaving the Hubworld you go into Levels like 3D Land and Galaxy. Even these levels are straight run on the first try with a more free roam upon the 2nd run by using different power ups to reach new area and different things.

Then You have The Luigi levels and Maybe a regular two player mode, Always wondered how that would work in a 3D game.
