Won't be much of a surprise, but this is what I'm hoping is next. As someone who grew up with the Super Mario Bros. games, I don't want to see 3D only from here on out, on every system. There was a LOOOONNNNGGG absence of Mario side-scrollers of over a decade, including the entire Nintendo 64 & GameCube generation, and I don't want to see an absence like that again. So, hopefully NSMB Mii is more than a tech demo. I fear Nintendo will be 3D-happy with the powerful new HD Wii U, however, like they were with N64 & GameCube.

The New Super Mario Bros. games have been too successful for them to not continue on with. I'm sure the Wii U will probably get an instalment, and possibly the 3DS at some point. The latter is less likely though I'd say with how Super Mario 3D Land has already made an attempt at joining the 2D and 3D games together, but I still wouldn't be surprised to see a NSMB game on the 3DS.

Its probably going to be a launch game. Its been four years since the last game so Having one at launch wouldn't be bad. I would think that they would go out with the Next Mainline 3D game for launch.
Never Played The WIi Game but I hope they Pull a Rayman Origins and just go crazy with the gameplay mechanics.
