Is it plastic with some hot glue poured on the pad so it could stick on the stick? As being a paranoid, I tried to pull the pad from the bottom to see its strength to find out if it was defective or not but then my fingers ached and well I didn't want to risk it even further so I left it like that the way it is. Its still strong but I'm curious as to why a lot will end up with defects or how does the circle pad break all of a sudden........
