I think that if you want a genuine online gaming experience, you should go on a ps3 or xbox. Handheld systems in my opinion don't really need online play, however it is still nice to play online.

the worst part of handheld online gaming is the fact wifi kills ya battery (if u want a good session you've gotta use the AC adapter /sadface)

Fixed. /ontopic, I kind of agree, but online gives games a larger community. The days of releasing a game, and never looking at it again are coming to a close. If a game has no online, a large chunk of it's replay-ability is severed. Finding games with a good enough story/ singleplayer is kind of tough nowadays.
@bossmank I don't know, its like all the characters fought pretty much the same. The story mode was awful (granted, fighters are not to big on their stories) the fighting consisted of mindless button mashing... The only thing that impressed me was the stages.
There are quite a few different fighting styles represented. It just doesn't have a lot of flashy energy/ki/whatever moves. As for button mashing, maybe you could accuse Tekken of it, but DoA has an excellent counter system to discourage it.
As long as there's a good counter system, I personally prefer the punch/kick combos in fighting games like DoA than the H/M/L one-at-a-time attacks with overcomplicated super move inputs and overblown strategy in fighting games like Street Fighter. I also find that a neutral block system like in SSF43D's Lite Controls and the Naruto: Clash of Ninja games adds some nice strategy and fun to the normally difficult job of blocking.
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

are you kidding? no offense but the difficult opponents will destroy you if you mindlessly mash. i think they all have a unique style, some are a little similar but are implemented differently. for example Christie my favorite character is extremely different from bass and hitomi. they may have similar combo combinations but they do different things. the stages are fun and i love the interaction. tried playing some other fighters before i responded so i wasnt biased, and they all felt like they were missing something. a properly implemented counter system. i realized it adds a ton to the game. also makes your opponent have to think about their attacks. of course this is my opinion, and we will probably still disagree on this but oh well. to each his own

Just so you don't get disappointed at launch Tekken is rated T, Bubbab55. I can't wait for the game though. Tekken is easily my favorite fighter (if you don't count SSB). Is it even confirmed to have online? Jeez I hope so. I would love to beat you guys in it.
You should definetly check out the trailer. Its hilarious, the producers of Tekken & Street Fighter have a fight and it even includes a miiplaza streetpass in the video. The trailer confirms the inclusion of a Full 3D movie as well as the game.

So does this mean that anyone could join in on an online multiplayer SINGLE CARD game? Because if that's the case, that's just awesome.
