It would be nice if Holidays were more engaging. For instance, in Maple Story Halloween is much like it is in RL and for Thanksgiving you can go Turkey Hunting. So in Animal Crossing 3DS I hope we can go trick or treating or pumpking pie making for Halloween, and Turkey Hunting for Thanksgiving Day along with literally baking a Turkey. At Christmas you could could cut down and decorate a Christmas tree and play snow ball fights along with capturing and claiming red or green nosed reindeer and then ride him as he is your mount!

How does that work in a game where everyone is animals?
In the gamecube game, they had a Turkey who showed up on Thanksgiving, hiding, scared for his life. He asked you to steal supplies from the table where they kept the forks if I remember right. But since he was always hiding behind a tree, he was hard to find.
I don't always give myself signatures, but when I do, you just read it.
I just want new stuff, new stuff, and new stuff. And it seems like I might actually see these things this time as this game does look significantly different than the other iterations of the series, which is good. Having been a fan since the first game on GC, the same ol same formula was beginning to get dull for me.
Give me every holiday from every Animal Crossing ever. Don't be a Wild World and cut out Christmas and Halloween. But Holidays are my last worry. I want some bang for my buck and something to do. I want to explore this new world, explore a different world. Don't just give us 1/10th the size of a normal sized mall and claim it as a "city".
I heard somewhere you get to explore caves and your town isn't so much a box anymore but a giant island. I don't know though but if that's the case I would be surprised as that would be groundbreaking news.
I bet this game comes out September 2012. AKA 10th anniversary of Animal Crossing.

I just hope there's more dialogue variety. I don't like talking to new characters that say the same things as old characters all the time.
Get rid of the incessant "Change my greeting," "Change my catchphrase" and "Joey is making fun of me because I keep on saying 'nutmeg.'" Sheesh, I get that garbage every single time I play; often two or three times. The only time I hear the greetings is when they ask me to change them.
My biggest: Let me play billards with friends. Ping Pong. C'mon, they have tables and an arcade cabinet yet you can't play?
Next, in the city (which looks bigger in AC3DS if you saw the map) have an arcade. No, not Nintendo classics particularly (Maybe Mario Bros.) but original arcade games that appear in the AC world, y'know? And have some multiplayer component too. It'll add more things to do and I hope there the city has events and the like held there that are separate from village events.
Even then, the game is shaping up to be the true sequel to AC(WW) and I can't wait to play it.

Yes, especially this. I wish they would make it a little more like GC in that the dialog is unpredictable at times and almost always interesting, yet I also did enjoy how you could form actual friendships with them in WW and attain the super rare picture items through this process. It made me feel closer to them. City Folk's AI programming was just terrible really. Each character said a maximum of like 10 things, most of them mindless instructional banter. "Take a look up at the sky by pressing up on the control pad." Uh, yeah, I've been playing this for 6 months; if I don't know that by now, I'm either stupid or 3 years old or both.
1. Insane amounts of new furniture! 2. Lots of DLC 3. New characters 4. Unique items from villagers like wild world's pictures! 5. Control of your town. Eg, build this, demolish that, kick Eloise the "F" out of here! 6. A city to visit where you can purchase a condo! On the game cube version, you could decorate a cabin on an island if you hooked up your GBA. City folk missed out by not allowing this. 7. Huge houses. City folk also let me down because of the tiny houses. When compared to wild world's mansion, it felt woefully inadequate... 8. An enormous, dedicated Nintendo server town that you and everyone else can visit. You can meet new people here, trade items, and things will often change and you will want to keep coming back. 9. New buildings to choose from. 10. The ability to pick your house's outer facade.
I'm sure I'm forgetting some things, but that will do for now. You all have great ideas, hopefully some will actually get implemented.
@Mully What you originally said was a bit insensitive. The conversation that followed went from bad to worse. Whether you want to leave or not is totally your call — maybe get some distance for a day or two.
Everyone else — I really shouldn't have to say this, but please, just be nicer to each other.
