Topic: What genre of game do you think the 3DS lacks?

Saying anything besides First-Person Shooters seems kinda suspect, since that's the only genre I can think of where there are currently ZERO games worth a damn.

RK's game looks decent but I want a game with multiplayer. And both MPH controls, KI:U controls and CPP support.

Screw you.

I must say that what 3DS is missing are more games like Gunman Clive, SUPER cheap and good worth little bit more than its price!

goodbyes are a sad part of life but for every end there's a new beggining so one must never stop looking forward to the next dawn

I'd say fps shooters is where it's lacking.. Even a CoD game would be great.

Midnight3DS

Boardgame adaptations. So far, they're only available on the app store. Dual screens would be a big plus for the genre.

I sorta just want 3d remakes of most GBA games like the fire emblem series like they did with kid icarus 3d classics.

Pretty sure the 3D Classic series only has NES games. But yeah, can't we at least get some GBA virtual console game on there? The only ones they have are the ambassador ones and they play amazingly on it.

I have ambassador. I was one of the first ones to get a 3ds in north america (if not the first) u_u
anyway fire emblem sacred stones would be way more amazing if the battle scene pops out of the screen. (even though I honestly think the images on a 3ds are not that 3D)

That's because Fire Emblem Sacred Stones is a GBA title...

Sucks to be you.

I am happy now, the wrongness has been corrected. As for what genre the 3DS needs, it needs more First Person and Third Person Shooters. That is all.

I think racing games, the 3DS should be great for them with the one analogue and 3D screen, but they just haven’t arrived. I bought Ridge Racer (great game) and Need for Speed the Run (pretty good) when they were released, but am disappointed that we've not seen many more quality racers.
I got tired of waiting for new 3DS racers, so ended up buying a PSP with SEGA Rally, OurRun 2, Ridge Racer 2 and Burnout Legends - also found some great retro compilations on the PSP like the megadrive and Capcom collections, the VC games release at a very slow rate.

It's an interesting topic because while it has a good catalogue, it has a lot of weak spots.

  • FPS: not even one, it is really surprising until you think about the support the handheld is getting from Western developers, not much.
  • Racers: MK7, Sonic ASRT, Ridge Racer and one NfS. Not enough.
  • Third Person Shooters: this category is almost empty...
  • Fighters: there are only 4 worthy plus the upcoming Smash Bros.
  • Action-Adventure: Zelda and...?
  • 3D platformers: Mario, Sonic and a port of a port of a port...(Rayman)
  • Sports: this one is pretty much deserted. Sad.
  • Western RPG: there is not a single one and it will remain the same.

The 3DS has a lot of good games but its catalogue is severely lacking.

My point. I was suggesting to add a 3D feature to some gba games like they did with a NES game

need more JRPG! sure 3DS had a good collection of JRPGs, but there is no Disgaea, Persona, Vanillaware games, and many niche titles.

I want more of those shiny anime-ish JRPGs with STORYLINE! not only SMT games, Fire Emblem, Tales of Remake, and Etrian Odyssey!

It just needs games that companies usually put on consoles. Here's a list of what I think should happen based on company:

EA - The Sims, Spore, maybe Battlefield or Dead Space, and EA sports games.

Activision - Tony Hawk Pro Skater and/or Call of Duty

Capcom - A new Megaman game, the next Street Fighter

Those are just a few examples. Those should be givens, really. Even if alot of these games are multiplat with the Vita, I don't care.

Spore and Tony Hawk games that aren't dumbed down seem like they would be pretty popular.

EDIT: Oh ya, GTA and maybe an actually good Square Enix game. They could just throw(albeit, good) a Tomb Raider or Final Fantasy game on there.

I'd really want some cartoony but serious FPS. Why cartoony you may ask? The 3DS isn't a very powerful console. So why not save some ram off having less detailed graphics. One game I kinda want them to mimic is TF2. Cartoony and can run on older PC's

Not extremely into nintendo at the moment, but not really into anything else either. :|

Maybe Borderlands on 3DS? It's possible. They would just have to build an exclusive version for portables aside from the console versions.

The 3DS can handle alot more demanding games than it is currently, and I think that what people want.
