Girls live past 30?
Any way, I have always heard Senran Kagura Burst is great fun for the 3DS, I recommend that game to everyone I meet.
I loled. And I second this opinion. Perfect game for girls.
Smexi darling I have to disagree. It is a good recommendation but, the perfect game would have to be Cooking Mama. So the girl can learn that her rightful place is in the kitchen learning to cook food for her sexy sweaty hard working man.

The Harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.
Based on what you've said on your prior experiences on the Game Boy, I would suggest New Super Mario Brothers 2, Super Mario 3D Land and Kirby's Triple Deluxe. All of those are playable on the 2DS, and you're going to love getting one, mine has been very comfortable. You can also play DS games on a 2DS, so hopefully you can get your hands on Tetris DS, Meteos, Kirby Squeak Squad, New Super Mario Brothers and Super Mario 64 DS too. You might have to get those off Amazon since those 5 are last generation titles. Have you ever played Mario Kart before, snoopygamer?

Anyways a lot of people already thrown out the best ones, so you can guess which game I'll recommend. >.>

Keep it PG-13-ish.
Most Nintendo games are pretty much unisex. The only sex-differences in gaming in general I'd guess would be that guys tend to play action games and fighting games more, whereas girls maybe play the kind of life-management type games more (the sims, animal crossing etc).
But given that Nintendo really doesn't invest much in the action genre, your gender is probably irrelevant! So go with a 3DS XL and the games that it's criminal to miss are:
Super Mario 3D Land
Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
Mario Kart 7
Fire Emblem Awakening
and on the eshop:
Steamworld Dig
Pullblox/Pushmo
Cave Story
Shovel Knight
Thank you for the new recommendations!
I-U: Yeah, i have played Mario Kart before on the Wii....it was fun, but was not too much blown away from it....is it better on the 3DS?
I think MK 7 is better than MK Wii yes. As others has mentioned, I will also recomend Professor Layton, these are my favorite games on the 3DS ^^
Fantasy Life is also very good, Animal Crossing new leaf and Donkey Kong country returns 3D
Thank you for the new recommendations!

I enjoyed Mario Kart Wii, but would say it's one of my least favorite Mario Kart experiences. Mario Kart 7 for the 3DS is iffy, though I do like 7 more than Wii. Another Mario Kart to look into is the one for the DS. Mario Kart DS is playable on the 2DS and is loaded with content. Mario Kart DS is one of my personal favorites whether I'm playing alone or with my siblings, so I would recommend that one the most.

Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon would be a great start. Obviously I can't be 100% certain unless I get a sex change in 7 years but...I have a feeling being a girl isn't going to magically turn Luigi's Mansion into Superman 64.

Precisely. It's not like we're pulling the strings from behind, unseen, unheard, yet always there...

Hehe i will deffinitely try out Luigi`s Mansion, sounds interesting!
Also Mario Kart
Wohoo, i have now a whole list to try out.
Finally i bought my 2DS and i have now the Super Mario Bros 2 that came with it. Originally this will be Xmas present for myself...but i will try it out a little bit in the meantime as i am really curious.
I know it's been mentioned twice, but if you liked Tetris on the Gameboy, you really need to play 'Pushmo' from the e-shop... Kirby Triple Deluxe, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, Professor Layton, and Animal Crossing: New Leaf are all good choices too.
Currently playing: Pokemon Alpha Sapphire and Legend of Zelda: ALBW.
As a 30 year old female, I can tell you that we can enjoy all the games guys do. I HATE when people assume girls would only like Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, Tetris, etc. This thread really annoyed me!! I do not feel at all that games are gender specific. Especially on 3DS, there are so many awesome games that are appealing for everyone. It depends on which game genre you like, not about the fact that you are female. I personally enjoy RPG's and action/adventure.

Why would it annoy you? People are different. She's not saying you have to think the same way. I'm pretty much the only one of my group of male friends who doesn't play first person shooters and sports games. But I'd never get offended if they suggested those were "male" games. Society makes those kinds of loose generalisations about pretty much everything. I've always considered it a benefit to be one of the people who doesn't fit into them, gives you an upper hand on people who will make false assumptions!
