o.o; Well, they don't use the +Pad. That may be why.

I hadn't thought about pokemon mysterious dungeon, it may be useful there.

If the circle pad was on the other side, or if there were two, I'd say Metroid Prime Hunters.

They don't work with the d-pad, so they won't work with the slide pad. The touch Screen controls are great anyway, and I'd take those over archaic "traditional" controls any day

In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

I actually wasn't aware of this feature. Does this mean Okamiden DS will playable via the analogue circle pad on the 3DS?!

And Super Mario 64 DS will be like a whole new experience to many with the circle pad controls!

No no no no. All the circle pad will do is emulate the d-pad, just like a GameCube controller does on an SNES game on the Virtual Console. You'll still be limited to moving in 8 directions. It'd require a lot of additional code in the cartridge to support analog movement.

Not for Mario 64 DS. Because of the touch controls, you can move in more than 8 directions.

If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

You could have still moved in more than 8 directions evern with the D-Pad in Mario 64. The only thing you probably won't be able to do with the slide pad is move at varying degrees of speed because the D-Pad just wasn't sensitive like that.

That doesn't matter. Like turtlesoup said, the circle pad is mapped to the d-pad. Touch screen input is completely different from d-pad/joystick movement.

Nintendo would have to specifically write code to emulate the touch screen events in SM64 when you use the circle pad. It'd have to be SPECIFICALLY for SM64, or it'd interfere with other DS games. That alone is unlikely (and difficult), and Nintendo has already said that DS games won't be enhanced by the 3DS. Plus they're probably not very interested in working on enhancing a 6 year old game that they're not making money off of anymore.

Uh, so? All the circle pad will do is send the exact same input commands that the d-pad does, which is all I'm saying. It might be more comfortable, but it won't give you any more control than you already have.

That's fine, but aren't you still curious to try it out anyway? That was what this thread was originally about.

Not really, since I sold it a few months ago. Besides the crappy d-pad controls, the ABXY buttons were laid out horribly. I imagine having to hold a button to run while using an analog stick would drive me crazy. I'd much rather play the original VC version.

I didn't think the button layout was horrible, but holding a button while using the Slide Pad might feel a little awkward. I don't imagine myself going crazy over it, however.
