I'll bet it will have 3D, so as to be backward compatible with the 3DS. It probably won't be a major part, and probably won't have an analog slider. It'll probably be like how the brightness control on 3DS works.
Thats true, it will have 3D on it but games published specifically for that wont have 3D but will have HD, or the other way around. Just like Wii U, some have offscreen feature some dont.
HDS : Dual Screen, Dual Circle Pad, 3D, HD, 3G, No Friendcodes, Size of an XL (thin), 8.0 MP 3D Cam, Better OS design, 1.5 GB of Ram, Backwards Compatible, integration with Wii U or its predecessor, and should be able to watch videos on its browser (Flash & Adobe compatible),
why dont they give us 3DS miiverse release date
You are spot on, but I am not giving up hope on videos on the 3DS browser. There's no reason why it can't have a browser that supports HTML5 like the WiiU browser.
Guys, 3G/4G isn't that big of a deal. With Vita, you have to have a service with AT&T, with a minimum plan of $15 a month if that's the only device you have, or use it with an existing plan from AT&T.
You can play online only, but downloading games won't work if unless you are downloading small files.
3D is here to stay, so they won't be getting rid of that. The only real improvements we'll see in a new DS will be HD, graphics, the processor, etc.
Trust me, 3G/4G isn't that big of a deal unless it's more accessible to other service providers, or free, which PS Vita doesn't do. There's lots of improvements they could make, but the time for those improvements isn't possible right now(hardware wise) if Nintendo actually cares about their financial stance, which they do.
I'm hoping the next DS will be backwards compatable with 3DS games in 3D and have a HD screen. It should also have video chat, party chat, and of course, have a way better camera resolution.
Favorite Games: Sonic CD, Sonic 3 and Knuckles, Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland, and Call of Duty: Black Ops, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game, and Mega Man 5. My Backlog
Sonic is AMAZING!! Nintendo is AMAZING!! I AM AMAZING!!
Nintendo 4-DS? Nintendo Dual Stick DS Deluxe? I don't think anyone can really accurately depict just what Nintendo has up their sleeves as far as consoles go. No one's ever really done it in the past I don't think.
Maybe it'll have two widescreens, like from this image that was released prior to the announcement of the 3DS:
Of course, this was before they knew about the circle pad or 3D.
It also said dual touchscreens, but touchscreens and 3D don't go very well together.
I'm thinking we could have multitouch technology this time around, though. Capacative rather than Resistive touch.

Knowing Nintendo, they will probably either just do this, by which I mean enhance, & expand the technology inside the 3ds, or perhaps "innovate" on their next handheld design. The Ds, & Wii put Nintendo in/on an "console innovation" kick.
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
Whatever it is, I'm hoping it has access to ALL of the virtual console library, which at that point would include every Nintendo system, even the Wii U. Might have some problems with Wii games though... Nevermind the only Wii game it would have a problem with is Skyward Sword... It's technically possible to play just about any console game pre-Wii U on the 3DS right now. Nintendo just thinks it would make more money by remaking them first... and they're right.
It could be the other way around you know, but I'm pretty sure no one wants PS Vita or PSP games on Nintendo systems anyways, so ya.
I'd love it if we could get PSP/Vita games on a Nintendo console. Would save me from having to buy two handhelds.
Well, maybe I was over exaggerating, but the extra power PS Vita has isn't that impressive from what's been shown on the console so far. Mortal Kombat, Jet Set Radio, Metal Gear Solid Collection, etc. 3rd party games could easily be done on 3DS, they just didn't show up because companies were trying to show support for PS Vita on launch.
Trust me, I was seriously wanting a PS Vita when they came out, but time went by, and I learned more about it and saw it wasn't for me.
The memory cards are expensive, no 3D(that was a big reason for me), paid 3G by only at&t, back touch pad that's pretty useless as of yet IMO.
There's just way more things to do on 3DS that already have the core experience ready to go. PS Vitas been out for year there's still hardly anything worth mentioning for me. Plus I have a PS3, so I don't need a PS Vita even if I wanted to play those games.
I think the next DS will be HD widescreens like the pic above, almost Wii U graphics, dual analog, 4 shoulder buttons, multi touch, better cameras, still retain 3D, high capacity SD cards, wi-fi, and free 3G.
EDIT: BTW, free 3G is totally possible(Kindle has free 3G), or even just paying directly to Nintendo if they launched a satellite, but it's pretty stupid that Sony would outsource their servers to AT&T.
Just for speculation sake, I would call it Nintendo 3DSi, Nintendo 3DSU, or Nintendo 3DS Advance.
