Because I can take it anywhere whenever. That's the purpose of the handheld. And it's practically a PS3 in my hands. That's why it's going to be awesome.

I understand your points...

Thank you bobbiKat! I'm glad I'm not alone here.

I don't see why it's MORE special than on a home console.

Why does it have to be more special? I've yet to play a 3DS game that isn't better on the big screen. 3D or not (and there's 3D PS3 games anyway).

"Specialness" has very little to do with a) how much fun a game is and b) how well it will sell. I'm willing to bet enough people will get enough value out of a portable PS3 to make Call of Duty Vita a success.

Thank you. I'm getting a little too tired to be witty and to use my brain right and all that. D:

A) Please read my apology in the previous post.

B) That was MY whole point, which it is possible you haven't understood. Because you specifically have the power of a PS3, it MAKES the games inherently less portable. This goes for the 3DS as well mind you, the more concentration and skill is required in a game- the more likely you are to wait until you get home to play.

That's why I used Mario Kart 7 as an example (well, was handed it)... because the game requires concentration for a good score, I will use my 3DS to play Pokémon (a simpler game) while I'm waiting to get home to play MK7.

EDIT: Viewty, well to be honest it's almost 5am here... So if I have been a little harsh in any of my posts, I REALLY didn't mean it.

No your whole point was "why does it make it special"? What does it do that a PS3 can't? Why? Why? Why?

At best my point still stands. Or my opinion. Or whatever you want to classify it as. I want a Vita CoD because it would be convenient. Don't quote me anymore.

Well as you appear to be retconning my arguement to appear to be something which it was not, I'll quote myself

DanteSolablood wrote:

I understand that the single player modes etc WILL be playable on the go, but CoD and games where the longevity comes from beating the pants of friends & enemies online is a different bottle of fish.

I state quite clearly very early on that I doubt the playability of games that require online to be fun or manageable on the go, in fact...

DanteSolablood wrote:

..can't see myself getting into a heavy online multiplayer session on the train & having to ask everyone to pause when it gets to my stop or the driver makes an announcement. ;D

That was my second post in this thread clearly stating again that it's the portability I think is flawed. I know you're annoyed that people have not been understanding your arguement Viewty... but then your last post makes it look like you've not understood mine at all either. It goes both ways.

How did a thread about opinions on a possible 3DS CoD transform into a "what new handheld will be better for CoD?" thread?

Those don't apply to me. When I play it I'd either be at a friends in my own home. Or at work. Where I live trains/subways/buses aren't a familiar way for transportation. It's called walking and driving. Walking, for me, is focusing on texting or where I'm going. Running especially.

Like I said it'll be convenient to play it wherever I am. No matter what the situation is.

By the way, keep calling me Viewty. I'm loving it. (I'm not kidding.)

And I said I apologise if I misunderstood how people like to play CoD, anyway Viewty I'm heading off for the night/morning.

And "Viewty" was meant as a compliment, so glad you enjoy it!

If the 3DS can match the Wii's Call of Duty quality even that won't be enough. The Vita can match a PS3 through and through and that alone will blow any 3DS port or watered down multiplatform crossover every day of the week.

RE:R is a good game. But CoD is too big for the system. Treyarch is going to have to water it down so it can run on the 3DS with no issues. If they even have a team willing to make a 3DS version. (Also your only concern seems to be the graphics. Which is a no-no here.)

What? You just contradicted yourself. First you say that if it can match the Wii's QUALITY, it won't be enough and that the Vita can match the PS3 through and through. HOWEVER, you go on to say that you aren't talking about graphics. What?! The 3DS could handle a Call of Duty game. If the Wii can have MW3 in all it's glory in every area but graphics, then the 3DS can pull it off.

i wouldnt mind a shooter on the 3DS. but call of duty ?
not sure, especially since i chose battlefield 3 over CoD.

the 3ds isnt made for online gaming. vita is. if we see a shooter on the 3ds, i would like it more to be a metroid or something more adventure. with a story.

And then you skipped every other comment of mine to quote just these two! If the 3DS can imitate the Wii version of Call of Duty it's still going to be a watered down, unwanted version when compared to the Vita, PS3, and 360. Graphics wise who cares? And when you compare it to the Vita release, there will be a huge difference in quality and content. (By the way, the 3DS is going to have a hard time running the latest Call of Duty. And no space is not the problem... but then again it might be! )

If it's even going to be released for the 3DS. I honestly don't think it will sell well on the 3DS.

Don't worry I don't like Call of Duty. I love it. But I said that because I don't see a worthwhile audience on 3DS for Call of Duty.

And I never thought there was a worthwhile audience on 3DS for Resident Evil... yet Capcom made a console-quality RE title for the system.

And Call of Duty games have appeared on the original DS before, more often than on the PSP actually.

Resident Evil on Nintendo systems is a must and has been for over a decade. Even on the original DS.

the PSVita is a portable PS3. I'm sure I'm not the only Call of Duty fan whose going "Call of Duty on the go? D:<"

Yes I'm sure it could be great, gyro aiming would work well, but I'm sure the pro's would use the CPP.
Should it be on 3DS? Don't see why not, not my personal taste but I reckon there is a large audience willing to shell out the cash (as long as the online is sound,no reason why it shouldn't be!)
Don't like it ,don't f'in buy it!!! some of the comments on here are ludicrous!! Why are people so angry about a video game? Do people argue like this over films they think are too mainstream or whatever? Doubt it. Sheesh move on people!

What's this bit for again?

See, you missed it... The Wii's version of MW3 is the EXACT SAME GAME as the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. The only difference is graphics; and as you said "Who cares?" And as for your "unwanted version" and "I don't think it will sell well" comments, why wouldn't it? If it can imitate the Wii's version (which if you refer to MW3 is the same game) meaning the 3DS can have the same experience as the PS3/360/(Vita?) versions, why would it be unwanted? Why wouldn't it sell well?

Also, not everyone has the money to shell out for every system so they can have the "most optimal experience." So if they can only afford a 3DS, then it would make sense to get the 3DS version, right? Or what if they only have a 360? PS3? Vita even?

Also, the 3DS wouldn't have trouble running the latest Call of Duty. Even if it had to be altered from the console versions, they could adapt it to run on 3DS. It isn't like they are going to port the uber HD PS3 Call of Duty down to a handheld that can crank out high end PS2 graphics... They've done it before with Call of Duty on DS and PSP.
