That's nothing compared to the HD consoles and you know it.

The DS CoDs sold well enough for one to be made each year, they made one for psp. I'm sure there enough fans.
Plus lets not forget the Nintendo Network CoD could show it off greatly.

No. The Vita is practically made for CoD at this point.

There was only one CoD made for PSP because people worked out really quickly that with no touch screen, and just one analgue stick, the PSP sucked for shooters. Even more so than the DS.

That's been fixed with the Vita.

Yes, but they haven't fixed the biggest problem with CoD on the PS Vita or what my problem with the PS Vita stems from... and that is "is a handheld the best place to play CoD in the first place"? While I understand the campaign missions would work out quite well if they were shortened or modulised, one of the biggest attractions to CoD and other online FPSs is the online play.

Can you really see people walking around on the pavements/sidewalk shouting down headsets for their freinds to take cover? Or maybe dropping out of a live deathmatch every few minutes when a bus interfers with their wifi/3G signal? The only time you'll really get the benefit of the online aspects of the game is when there's plenty of time to play indoors with a good net connection... at home or around a friends. In which case do you need ANOTHER PS3 to play it with?

When I'm tired or just want to sit around and chill with friends, I'll pull out CoD on my Vita and play it. If someone wants to play my PS3 I can just play my Vita. I could name more reasons but those kind of apply to every handheld ever.

Why play Animal Crossing Wild World when I can play City Folk? See how that question is flawed?

Isn't the DLC SD card argument pretty flawed? Yeah sure, DLC might need a big SD card, but that's cheaper than buying the vita memory cards which you'd also need for DLC.

Not really, considering that Wild World came first and wasn't very online-centric and was an older, less able version... it's like saying why play Super Mario 3 if you haven't played Super Mario. Plus there is very little online content in Animal Crossing Wild World, it's really not a great example.

Oh, and I sold my AC:WW when City Folk came out, it was a little sad saying goodbye to Akiba Town.. but I'd stopped playing it a year earlier.

I understand that the single player modes etc WILL be playable on the go, but CoD and games where the longevity comes from beating the pants of friends & enemies online is a different bottle of fish. What you're basically telling me from your post is you whip out your PS Vita when you're lounging around, because you can't find your PS3 remote? Or you don't want to play multiplayer with friends?

BTW, as I said, I'm not particularly anti-PS Vita and may pick one up eventually myself. It's just a small grumble I have at Sony's decision to launch mobile hardware with specs so close to it's existing hardware without adding in some "extra" killer feature which would make it must-have. From what I can tell their strategy is to make games which could have been for the PS3, but only release them for the Vita & add apps which would work on the PS3 if they weren't so attached to the XMB.

Quoted for truth. Infact I wonder how much a harness, a cheap flatscreen TV & a car battery would cost? Mobile PS3 cheaper than a Vita? XD

I dunno, RE: Mercs sold pretty well on the 3DS, and that game was as online-centric-single-player-sucks as any game I've played before.

Or Mario Kart. If there is a game that is less appropriate, according to your idea of what should be and should not be on handheld, then online and multiplayer-centric Mario Kart 7 should never have been a 3DS game.

True, and that is a much better example than Animal Crossing. My best response to that, and this is a genuine one (not a comeback for the sake of it) is that there are a lot of people buying it for the updates, killer feature (the 3D) and because they don't own a Wii. I fall into the latter category because I no longer own a Wii. I definitely wouldn't have purchased the 3DS version because I only ever play it online at home.

As I said, I'm not a die-hard anti sony nut & I certainly may be wrong and hopefully so. BUT I still feel that sony is cutting it fine in terms of the difference in their mobile & home hardware. Games such as RPGs, racing games & even fighting games could do well as they're more "mobile" friendly... FPSs? I'm not convinced.

EDIT: Never played RE Mercs, though it could just be Resi starved Nintendo fans running on the hype for Revelations? I never claimed to have all the answers.

See, I would argue that RPGs are better on the big screen where they can be the epic experience that the genre demands, and battery concerns wouldn't stop you from a six hour play session. FPSers, meanwhile, especially with the modern FPS's disposable plot and generous checkpointing, would be far better for quick play sessions on the daily commute.

And that's the point Viewtiful and I are making. There's an audience for CoD Vita, even if it's not you, the hardware now supports it (unlike the PSP game), and, most importantly, the Vita is a better console for it than the 3DS.

Yeah I'm sick of repeating myself. No one that's arguing with me is understanding my points. (Waltz is the only person whose making sense in this thread besides Turtlelink and myself.)

Having a handheld CoD is awesome. I don't care if it's on PS3 or not. It's better on a handheld and that's my opinion. Don't like it? Lump it.

You could probably argue which is better for days, but other than power, it comes down to cost and preferred controls. I wouldn't argue online since we don't know and we'd need to account for 3G speed and connection issues with at&t as variables.
How much are Vita games by the way, I forget?
For controls with the cpp, you get the second circle pad and shoulder button. But I prefer stylus aiming, but thats me.

And lets not forget the wifi only PS Vitas which can only do online indoors.

Maybe if no one else is understanding your points, maybe it's you that's not making sense? I only say this as people that think they are right generally refuse to see other peoples points of view.

I can understand you wanting to chill with your friends and pop-out your Vita to play CoD... but unless you're on holiday (where you can't pack your PS3), in a hotel, or with a friend that has no PS3, I don't see why it's MORE special than on a home console.

EDIT: Okay, having read PolkaDot's post I will backtrack and apologise Viewtiful_Joe (although I did already say that for the SINGLE PLAYER) modes the CoD on Vita would work fine), I will admit that if you have a long commute then I can see the atraction of playing offline CoD on a handheld. This may be my misaprehension of the reason many play CoD as I see it as more of an online game.

If people play the game MORE for the single player missions then that is my mistake.
