Topic: What do you think of call of duty being put on the 3ds?

If I can assume it's just a better looking, better sounding, analog movement, higher-res touch-screen controlled (more accuracy) version of the DS Call of Duty games, then I would absolutely buy it.

Plus, some extra commands available to your left thumb with the D-pad? Could be incredible, really.

I never said any of that. The 3DS can't handle a full fledged Call of Duty title. It's not the memory that's a problem either. It's the hardware itself. Plus the Vita CAN handle that sort of HD stuff. Which is why it will be the definitive version to purchase if there is even a 3DS release.

If the Vita can handle Battlefield 3, then I'm sure it can handle Call of Duty. xP

the 3ds is better then the ds,look at cod ds,it had ranks(no prestige),it had some gun attachments in black ops and mw3d,but on the 3ds they could put in prestige,add a jump feature,gun attachments,it could become more then a mini cod that was on ds and make it almost great as the wii/same and people buy that...now lets just talk bout the 3ds not vita since i dont see vita on the title,really always console wars with a 3rd party game

I would love to see what Treyarch can do with the 3DS. They're very, very talented. but all I'm saying is that CoD will be better on Vita. A handheld CoD with online and trophies? This logic is flawless for me. <3

Actually, yeah it does. Just because you dislike it doesn't mean it's not great. Face it, Call of Duty is a fad. A phenomenon. Call of Duty 4 took the FPS genre and nearly perfected it. Every one of it's successors has improved drastically. Give me any FPS game and compare every aspect to Modern Warfare 2 (2009 Game of the Year next to Uncharted 2 mind you). It will pale in comparison.

It's so close to perfect that I'd even compare it to Portal 2. But then again Portal 2 IS perfection.

Agreed - I agree with most everything you've said in this discussion. The Vita will be the better console for Call of Duty on the go.

Heck, it's likely that you'll be able to share savegames between your PS3 and Vita Call of Duty games, for a completely seamless experience. That is something that you will not get on the 3DS and Wii U versions.

I'm not sure how serious Joe is with tha vita comments. having a call of duty game kn the vita is no guarantee it will push units.

If the Vita can transfer my PS3 account over and possibly allow us to change our username (I hate mine it's really dumb), I won't even bother with the console versions. I could go to my job and play CoD through their Wi-Fi. Sure, for only 15 minutes but hey I get to play CoD at work!

Well I know it's not really a valid comment, but considering that there is every chance that the PS Vita will not be around long... does it really matter whether if COD is released for it? I'f it comes to COD this Christmas on the 3DS or buying a Vita with COD this Christmas... I'll go with the 3DS.

While it's true the 3DS is not anywhere near as powerful as the PS Vita, it still doesn't matter too much.. the 3DS is at least as powerful as the original PS2 which ran the the earlier CODs perfectly well. A lot of things such as 'achievments' and 'online' don't require much extra processing power (aka MK7).

Having a great online service with patches, many game modes, DLC, max number of players, great hit detection, no lag compensation, etc. cannot be done on the 3DS as well as it can on the Vita. Which is what Call of Duty is all about and if the 3D is lacking this, then it will share the same fate as the Wii version.

Agreed. Let's uh, wait until it's released and has at least one Monster Hunter in it's library before we judge it's success shall we? Let's not pull the ol' Vita is going to fail card. Remember when some of yous did that with the 3DS? I know I do.

:lol: I know, but it's fun sometimes to play "devil's advocate", especially following all the Vita's troubles in Japan ... but yes you're absolutely right, it would be unfair to judge it until it has been released in the West and has had some of it's killer apps rolled out by Sony.

I actually have a PS3 and did buy a PSP (don't have it anymore), so it's not as though I'm anti-Sony, but I must admit I'm not happy with Sony's approach to the Vita & will have to wait to see how sales go before deciding whether to buy-in. After all I do have a PS3 already & can't see myself getting into a heavy online multiplayer session on the train & having to ask everyone to pause when it gets to my stop or the driver makes an announcement. ;D

note that they are thinking of adding dlc for the 3ds

Five maps per Map Pack are huge chunks of memory to download.

SD Cards can go up to 32GB can they not... pretty sure that would handle a good few map packs.

Not everybody is going to go out buy that huge of an SD card. Besides I don't think there is a fanbase for CoD on the 3DS. And by that I mean I don't think it will sell well on it.
