I really, really hope I'm not making a mistake getting Sims 3.
You will regret it. If I were you I'd grab PilotWings Resort or SMB3D. Please don't insult your 3DS with a sub-standard title that wasn't developed with 3D at the forefront.
It's true that the graphics might not blow your mind like other titles, but some people are just Sims people so it could be a good purchase. I know I have interest simply because I used to be able to spend the whole day playing the Sims on my computer. I'm looking forward to a review.
1.) This will be my first Sims game ever, so everything will be new to me. If it gets bad reviews for not presenting anything new, it won't affect me because everything in the series is new to me. 2.) Graphics don't impress me, so less-than-fantastic graphics won't make me dislike the game.
I was originally going to get a normal DSi XL a couple of months ago, but then I realized it'd be incredibly stupid not to wait for the 3DS system, as the different in price would be less than the price of a game. So now I've pre-ordered a black 3DS.
At first I didn't' feel like any of the launch titles really appealed to me, so my plan was to get "Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem" only (I loved Lemmings), but then I kind of got hooked by Nintendogs, so I've also ordered Nintendogs, the Golden Retriever version!
Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition, which I really should preorder, and I'm on the fence about Pilotwings Resort and Steel Diver. Never played a Pilotwings game before, so I'm wondering how fun it'll actually be for me to play, and I'm not super excited about the only confirmed locale being Wuhu Island. As for Steel Diver, it sounds kind of hit-or-miss for me, and I'm not to keen on spending $40 on something I won't like.
I reserved Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time even do its in June. My heart is set on that game only right now.

My worries with The Sims titles are not even about the kind of game it is. It´s just questionnable if the game will be even playable. I mean the reviews for the recent Wii-version of the game have been abysmal. And from what i´ve read i think no living creature should be tormented with such a sloppy bug-fest. So i would definitely wait for reviews on that one.
On a lighter kind of note i preordered a black 3DS bundled with Ridge Racer 3D today. For about 280 € on German amazon to whom it may concern. But who knows, maybe i´ll change my mind before or a better offer comes along someday. Since i´m still a bit worried on long loading times in that one. If not i`m planning on ordering Pilotwings on March 25th too. Which is still depending on reviews on the size of content really.
And yes, i`ve ditched my plan to go hands-on with the system before getting it for the moment. And since i highly doubt Street Fighter IV will finish off my beat`em`up-badness that one will have to wait quite a while too.

Yeah, Sims should be played on a PC or console at the very least. I would imagine that the handheld version will have content and playability diluted somewhat.
I'm interested in what Nintendo Life reviews say (in this order) for: Pilot Wings Resort, Super Monkey Ball, Lego Star Wars III, Dead Or Alive & Rayman.
Maybe when I trade in my dsi after transferring my dsiware in May / June this will free up cash for more games.

Correct. Raylax is also not getting one. I'll be waiting at least until Mega Man Legends 3 comes out. There's nothing really worth playing outside of that in my eyes.

Hope so, because I'm actually more excited for the Sims 3 then I am for Nintendogs + Cats.

Probably none. I'm pre-ordering the console so I won't have to deal with shortages, but I'm not buying games until I find something that really inspires me.
I dont really know which to get.If they had one of the mario titles as a launch title or a 3ds version of the new Pokemon(which they should) this descision would be easier.
Funny, but the video actually makes it look better than what the guy says. I guess it's one of these things you can't judge until you get the console yourself, like the 3D itself!
I usually don't mind stretched images, though... The GBA trained me well.

Super Street Fighter 4 only. I'm a little short on cash so my plans to get Nintendogs and Pilotwings is going to have to wait due to other resposibilities. However my kid is getting a 3ds too and he will get a game. He'll likely want Lego Star Wars.

I'm very sorry for my comment on the DS version of the game! I've read reviews for the Wii-version of the game and these have been very bad. I thought i did the same for the DS version. After your comment i checked it again on metacritic and realized that i couldn't be more wrong. So i've change my comment. It now only states that the Wii version did get those very bad reviews.
But i'd wait for a review anyway because they may be using portions of the Wii game for the 3DS-version. Or rush it to keep the launch date. Who would know.
