Well, my Pikachu 3DS Xl got problems from the start: the shoulder buttons were a bit too soft, but I got them tight up a bit.

Besides that, I've own another 10 3DS (Cosmo black, Zelda 3DS, Pokemon blue and red, blue one, Toad special edition -only plays European titles-, blue one with Mario Kart, Pink one -for my daughter, I swear!!-, Mario and Luigi's one, Zelda's -the best!!-).

I've been hesitant about buying the Yoshi one because it doesn't look that good, but I'm definitely buying the Disney one, as soon as I save some food money for that.

Can I have some of your monies?

don't forget to share the monies with me!
what the!?!?!?! 11 3DSes!!! O.O

This is just based off of a few stories I've read on the internet, so it's basically anecdotal. The extra paint could actually change the weight, which could effect assembly, but it's still pretty hard to come by. I'm not making this up, BTW. I used to work at a factory, where the difference between an oz. could offset the entire order(especially when you're using tiny parts). It's totally plausible.

My son has had his 3DS XL since Xmas with no problems. Our second 3DS XL went back after only 5 days because there were multiple dead pixels located in the middle of the upper screen. Our replacement has one dead pixel off to the left but it's not noticeable so we'll live with it. We've had our Xbox 360 for a very long time and nothing has went out on it. We went through 2 PS2s both because they stopped reading disc. Other then the NES (which everyone had problems with) we've never had any issues with any of Nintendo's home consoles.

Besides needing to clean the contacts of the cartridge reader....what NES issues? Mine still works to this day...never heard of one fully dying just lots of contact cleaning.

The original NES was an awful design, but the top-loading model is almost perfect. Never had an issue with any of my top-loaders.

Currently Playing: Yakuza Kiwami 2 (SD)

Every time you put in a game and press down, the connector pins will get bent, which will do terrible things with time.

i recently upgraded to the xl and i went with the yoshi limited edition. and the first one i got had a chip in the top screen. i didnt notice it at first but then when i turned it on it turned into a giant rainbow and was so bad. then i took it back the same day and this one had dead pixels in the lower screen. so i had to go to a different store because they didnt have any more, and looked the next one over for about half an hour and it was ok. ive had it for awhile now and it seems cool and i'm happy with it. but having to return it twice in one day was a pain.

playing mostly - fantasy life, sword art online: hollow fragment, pokemon x&y, solatorobo, freedom wars, dragon ball z battle of z, futuridium. just got & about to play soon - shin megami tensei IV, one piece romance dawn & unlimited world red, muramasa rebirth, gundam seed battle ...

Looks like that particular store likes to play catch with its 3DSes....
