Topic: We need a real messaging system!

Honestly,it`s the year 2012.Why can`t we reliably message our registered friends without it taking 3 days? One time someone on my friend list sent me a message to join his Kid Icarus Uprising match at 8:00pm.I got the message about 2 days later when it didn`t even matter anymore, really? Why can`t Nintendo just get this right? They at least acknowledged that we needed a messaging system by giving us Swapnote, but it still doesn`t do the job right.Notifications could be the perfect messaging system if all they add is a way for you to write text and send it.Simple as that!

I was actually quite surprised to see that Nintendo 3DS didn't have any pigeon in the box.

Hallelujah.

Have you ever just tried using a telephone or texting, or email? I mean, yeah I get that there are a lot of people who would enjoy a messaging app on 3DS, but seriously, there are so many methods of communication these days, you shouldn't be so bent out of shape about it.

Why do we need a messaging system? Swapnote works just fine. It doesn't take 3 days for me to receive a swapnote sent on the same day. If you want to let people know about a tournament you are having ASAP, use the friends list.

I don`t see why I should need to also i`m not giving out my phone number to people I met over the internet unless I know them personally.

So give them your email address. Just create an email address for gaming to give out to people you met from the internet. Seriously you know how bad the 3DS message system is why would you use that as your main means of communication?

That`s just it I don`t use communication at all on my 3DS but not because I don`t want to,because it`s to slow for me to use and in the year 2012 I shouldn`t have to make a new e-mail account because Nintendo won`t put in a messaging system for their handheld.Tell me,would it be acceptable if the Wii U didn`t have any form of messaging when it releases ?

Ok why should Nintendo put in a messaging system for a handheld. If you want a messaging system get a cellphone instead of a handheld. Thats like me complaining that Samsung should put in a cartridge slot in their cell phones so I can play cartridge based games on my cell phone.

It`s nothing like that.My point is that for a company to release a product in 2012 without any useful means of communicating with people you`ve added, then there`s a problem. That`s all i`m trying to say.Why do you think competing online services such as PSN,XBL and Steam are so much better than Nintendo`s?Because they actually understand communication between peers rather than using other alternatives. It`s just more convenient.

Yes it would be acceptable cause I dont need a Wii U to message people. I have a phone to call and text and I have email as well. Face it if you by a video game system for a reliable message system there is something wrong.

I`m not just buying a gaming console to play games,BUT it`s nice to be able to communicate with people i`ve added without having to start up an entirely new device just to do it.

Because Sony and Microsoft are too worried about making an it will do everything console than a video game console.

Well,I can tell that neither of us are getting our point across to each other here so let me just say this.Messaging for any console isn`t necessarily required, but it still adds more incentive to add people and communicate.Just answer me this question. If the 3DS did have a good messaging system would you use that instead or another device?

Honestly everyone that I know contacts me by phone (calling or texting) Facebook or posting on forums. So to answer your question I would probably use both methods. But than again everyone that has my 3DS friend code knows me in RL so they just call me if they want to play a game.

Ahh...ok then, that answers my question. You`re talking about people who have added you in real life while i`m talking about people who you add over the internet. Now I understand where you`re coming from but still I would prefer to have a good messaging system in place so you could set up and online match without all this hassle.
