you've never played League of Legends to say the Pokémon fanbase is elitist

I gave up on catching them all after Emerald...
and(at least to me) it's a lot more fun when you don't worry about the Pokédex(especially because, like some pointed, Legendaries are useless the way they currently are, there are way too many and the really cool ones aren't allowed most of the time)

@GuSilverFlame True enough! But also I totally just meant Smogon. (: They make it seem not that fun and also I feel dirty for liking what they like, you know? Games are just fun. They're not my job.

Ahhh, that is what I wish I was like. Maybe someday I will be. I liked X a lot, but there is literally no way for me to get Shaymin and that bugs me. I don't even like Shaymin!

NOT THAT I WOULD KNOW FROM EXPERIENCE THOUGH

So basically, Pokemon is love/hate for me.

@World know how it is hard to not see the problems but even harder to stop playing completely! XD
and they should have at least allowed trading event Pokémon on GTS, IMO.

Also, to confront @Blast 's comment about villain.

How was Ghetsis not evil? Or Cyrus? Or Maxie and Archie? Or Giovanni? N was morally confused.

@Unca_Lz I consider Maxie and Archie morally confused instead of evil.... they thought their goals were for the best.
though it's in a kinda exagerated and funny way(one wanted to increase the landmass and the other expand the oceans that's incredibly over the tops)

Cyrus was brilliant. Pokemon Platinum is my favorite game and Cyrus definitely is one of the reasons why I luv that game so much. Cyrus was freaking amazing. N was also cool but I think they could have done more with him. Ghetsis also had potential but just wasn't enough. Giovanni is great.

what if the player character looked like the miis not really like in animal crossing where you just had the mii head but more like the trainer resembles a mii that you made.

i also would like to see poke fusions the problem with that though is there that theres 719 pokemon

and thats a fact jack

We also need to slow down the pacing of the games. There should be so much to do in between towns and cities.

I once heard Chuggaaconroy say that Gamefreak should really develop a Pokemon game for Wii U where you start off with an Eevee. I really like that idea.

Bring back Rival's like one you had in fire red and leaf green, cause every time i saw the so called friends in pokemon x and y, i wanted to end their lives cause they were that annoying. And the caves too from fire red and leaf green ,because the caves in pokemon x and y were just pathetic and short.

The Harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.

Allow breeding of legendaries, even if they keep them genderless and can only breed with ditto, it'd take care of the problem of not being able to get them. I have no plans to ever attempt to complete a pokédex because I know I'll always be missing certain mons. They could alternatively do more events so people can get ones that they missed the first time around.

everything's good and it'll be that way forever!

At the very least bit in a half decent story, I get so bored of the same by the numbers thing that's been repeated since the first game.

What I want:
More gyms. One for each type, but you still only have to beat 8 og them to enter the league.
Have to pay Nurse Joy to heal your pokemons. Because I usualy has enough money in the games annyway.
An ingame trainer who gives you a Feebas.
More Eevee evolutions
Harder league (after sll, they are supposed to be the best)
A grass/dragon pokemon

a cast of characters that actually have depth and not boring and in the way

Agreed. We need more Ns.

a villain that's either really evil or morally confused

They have all been evil or morally confused. How is this an improvement?

a rival who is frustrated with their life

What? How would this change anything?

more references to previous Pokemon games

I don't see this as an improvement either.

take inspiration from Harvest Moon
take inspiration from Mass Effect
take inspiration from Animal Crossing

Gonna have to be more specific.

breath back value into the word "Legendary Pokemon"

This is true. I felt that X and Y accomplished this by not releasing 20 freaking legendaries like Diamond/Pearl and Black/White did...each.

bring back Distortion World
bring some anime like elements into the story

I wouldn't really care about either. I don't really remember Distortion Word, so it must not have impressed me. Second, the anime has gotten bland and repetitive, so keep it out...

I would suggest the following:

A Dark type gym
Gym leaders with more personality than the typical "I'm a good guy and you're good at Pokemon. Get strong and have morals BLAH BLAH"
Don't make 150 pokemon every generation. We don't need them.
Fix the type chart. Ice has too many weaknesses and some types are still unbalanced. I would make Ice resistant to water and grass at least.
Bring back the Pokemon Frontier from Emerald and Platinum.

Pokémon is very defining in itself, so it's a bit hard to just call improvements on it. But some features obviously could use more flexibility, at least.

  • a point-based 'life plan' feature where you decide a rough outline on your characters personality (social skills, view on Pokés, general mood), what people are involved with your character (present family members, friends, rival(s)... stuff like that), and what goal your character wants to accomplish. All of these choices could influence your path, as well as offer distinct challenges.
  • A vastly improved trading system. Categorize Pokés by rarity: common is for Pokés you can catch, uncommon for Pokés that you can only get through evolving, rare for egg-only Pokés, very rare for Pokés you only get from an in-game event/trade, unique for download event Pokés, legendary for... well, legendaries, and shiny for shinies. It can be used as a restrictor to diminish trade spam, show-off trades, and impossible demands, by only allowing online trades from the same rarity level.
  • A more recent thing: something actually useful for Streetpass. The pokemile thing in X/Y was completely stupid and a waste of Streetpass capacity, so how about sending info on mass sightings, hidden items, or even team setups to battle against? Maybe even secret bases (for OR/AS) to send to each other, and if you receive a base on an already taken spot, you can visit it once and then decide which one to keep.
  • Coinciding with my first idea, there should be something like a career choice of sorts. It would allow you to decide whether you want to become the next champ of the Pokémon League, a master breeder (which would also work as an extensive IV breeding tutorial, or giving you a certain Pokémon to breed within given limits to then win a battle), or a contest king/queen (which would still have battles at the end, but put a strategic value to Pokémon ourfits, and how you raised their contest stats).

But to be honest, most of my ideas are closer to features than just improvements. Doing things differently probably is left to the numerous spinoff games.

Sounds like someone just has poor memory (it's called the Battle Frontier, BTW).

The Distortion World was that place at the end of Platinum's storyline where you caught Giratina and had wonky gravity (you could walk on walls and ceilings). There wouldn't be much reason to bring it back except in games where Giratina is catchable, it's irrelevant otherwise.

WaLzgi wrote:

We need more than 72, though. IMO the 100-120 range would be ideal.

Rarity can be somewhat subjective sometimes. For instance, let's look at some version exclusives. If you have X, Spritzee would be more valuable to you than Swirlix, but in Y, it's exactly the opposite. Or maybe you have access to past games and that makes it easier to get certain Pokemon. Maybe there's something about that Pokemon that you don't care about that others might like IVs or an ability. It's a different scenario for every person, so they can't enforce a rarity system like this.

Secret Bases are already confirmed to do this in ORAS.

@Bolt_Strike The rarity system I thought up goes for the technical rarity employed by the game, subjectional value can go from anywhere to everywhere, that's why some people justify demanding a Lv.01 shiny Arceus for a regular Lv.03 Bidoof. It needs a certain standard regardless of people disagreeing, and simply taking the possibilities of how to obtain a Poké is the most common denominator for its general rarity.
Besides, it's just an example - I'm fine with anything as long as it stops people from making infuriatingly unrealistic demands.

The only thing I did not like about the previous one is how easy it was and the story line...
Maybe some animated scenes here and there?
