I love how 95% of the toy-capsules result in a static picture with some text.
WOW, That's "Gold", right there!!!
The way they didn't even bother to voice-act the phone calls! It's so amazingly awesome, and really makes me think "Yes, this is definitely what we waited almost a decade for!"
Don't wanna sound like a "Sonic arms are not blue" guy, but anyone else felt some of the new graphics look too clean? Like, in the originals the art on them were intentionally crudely drawn.
In terms of repetetiveness I kinda agree. I will probably never unlock some of the coolest minigames like Mewtroid because I would have to grind for coins like crazy (and probably get tons of the useless ones like phone numbers) and I already played all the microgames a billion times each.
Would've liked to see more Smooth Moves representation, and I missed some microgames like rub the rainbow. While it was fun, I agree newcomers to the series will enjoy it the most.
Nintendo, please give us Smooth Moves 2 on the Switch.

the new art style in general is a little too clean for the series tbh. i think the other games (especially the GBA and DS games) had a very defined visual style and Gold's artwork seems so.. sterilized and current era Cartoon Network imo.
come to think of it that kind of sums up my opinions on most of the character changes (not just the voices but how the characters feel like a 180 from their personalities before, a.k.a Mona and Crygor for example)... it reminds me of the transition from original Teen Titans to Teen Titans Go.
enjoying the game though ! I actually love 18-volt in this game.
The first game had clean artwork. They just messed up the colors in several of the in game sprites for whatever reason.
But the official artwork and such was basically just t-pose clean drawings of the main cast.
As far as I remember the only game that had stylized artwork in the series was Touched, with the misprinted-looking art style. Everything else was clean, flash-style thick lines and solid colors.
I'd say the biggest change in this one is the bigger heads they gave to the characters.

Speaking of the game, it's a fun little distraction. I'm glad I didn't need to pay for it, because it's really only something I play while waiting for the stove to heat up or something
It took me a really long time to realize that the Touch League intro boss is from Wario Ware DIY.
I actually hadn’t noticed so many of the micro games were from DIY, in general.
There's even some from DIY Showcase (the WiiWare one)

@Eyseedoubleyou : If you have never played a WarioWare game before, this will be a fantastic entry point to the series. If you haven't played a WarioWare game in a long time, again, great option.
But if you have played most, if not all of the WarioWare games and you know them all very intimately, there is not much here in the way of new content (at least not enough to warrant dusting off the 3DS if you have since migrated to the Switch). I am quite frankly exhausted having waited 8 years for a new WarioWare game only to be served up the same content that I had been playing in the years during said hiatus.
"Gee, that's really persuasive. Do you have any actual points to make other than to essentially say 'me Tarzan, physical bad, digital good'?"
Just putting it out there, it would have been a really nice touch if they had bothered to implement 3D for the lone microgame that is based on one of the Virtual Boy games.

@Yosheel : I understand that, but they could have made an exception for the VB one.
Another thing that has really annoyed me about Gold/Gorgeous is that the developers hadn't bothered to enhance the games for New 3DS/2DS systems. The game suffers from some very glaring performance issues during certain microgames, particularly ones with 3D assets (the driving boss stage immediately springs to mind, which requires a certain degree of precision).
This has been a constant point of annoyance that I have had with Nintendo in general. I can understand that they would be cautious in producing games from the ground up for New 3DS systems (such as Xenoblade Chronicles 3D and Fire Emblem Warriors, which I very much doubt would have performed well commercially) but the least they can do is ensure that the improved CPU of the New systems are utilised for games going forward.
